Shane's Cards — Attraction in Renton

I've been a regular weekly player at this store since 2018. They are simply the best in the state when it comes to singles, tournaments and friendly staff. They also have a very underrated boardgame selection.

The main reason I wanted to leave a review is to address another review left by an anonymous user who had an issue with a yugioh judge James Nyguen. James is a VERY kind and patient person and its upsetting to me that the owner removed him from his position as a Judge to some spineless internet troll who essentially was using his review for leverage to get what he wants. Not only did Shanes proceed to remove him from the position which he absolutely deserved to be in, they left a one star review when they admitted in the same review it is not accurate and they "love the store". They also said they would change it to a 5 star review if he got what he wanted. Well I waited two months before leaving this comment because I didnt want it to be viewed as drama or inflammatory. To no ones surprise that review is still up and is still reflecting a one star review. Shane, Becky, Tom and anyone else who was involved in that decision, please reconsider James as a head judge. As a business owner myself I would be more than happy to help encourage other players to leave positive reviews that are deserved so you are not subject to the extreme vocal minority who obviously don't care about your business.

My boyfriend and I were in Renton and wanted to check out Shane's Cards as many friends and TCG players that we have met have shared with us how Shane's Cards was one of the best card shops in Washington! We had our dogs with us and we asked if we can bring our dogs inside as we browse and they were more than happy to let them in and give them lots of pets and attention. The staff here were very helpful, friendly and professional not only with us but with everyone else here.

I love how organized the store is while also being easy to walk around. There was a good amount of people inside but we were able to traverse easily and with no problems, even with our dogs which is saying something! They have specific sections dedicated to Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and other TCG games too. They also have a lot of different card accessories and essentials for plays such as boxes, play mats, sleeves, and much more. We noticed how super fair the prices are here.

The back of the store is the gaming area which is probably one of the biggest that I have seen in the area with plenty of seating and tables to play. It's exciting to know another great TCG shop that allows dogs and has everything we may need for...

I've visited Shane's a number of times and have always had a great customer experience. They have a decent selection of board games, miniatures and dice, a staple of any game shop worth it's salt of course. Where Shane's really excels is it's TCG selection, they have a ton of magic: the gathering boosters ranging from modern to way back, and they have the best selection of magic singles in the area, not only by volume but by the ease of which the knowledgeable staff are able to find you the singles you're looking for with their organization system.

They have plenty of tables for tournaments and play. They also have an extensive Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh singles/booster selection. Really if you're in the Renton area or the surrounding communities you owe it to yourself to go check out Shane's.
