08/09/2025 Update - "Can you please reach out to us so we can look into this further and make things right?" How about an email address, link, phone number, or other method to reach out to you. I posted the review here. That's me reaching out. Beyond that, you haven't given me a way to reach out, and I don't think your intent was to make the experience worse, but you kind of did. Give me another reply with the contact method, and I'll remove this part of the review.

08/07/2025 Update - tonight's meal was extremely delicious, and the presentation was probably the best I've seen in a few years of eating here somewhat regularly. Bravo!

2 stars for Atmosphere = Velvet Taco REALLY needs to figure out a way to get people their orders that doesn't involve yelling over the intercom, hurting customers' ears, and totally interrupting conversations. VT has a great atmosphere that is more or less ruined by names being shouted out every 90 seconds. Fix this, please!

I've eaten here many times before and have always enjoyed the food. Today I decided to get the chips and salsa to share with the table. I can't fathom how a restaurant chain that has such amazing tacos has such horrible chips and salsa. The chips tasted stale. And the thick, hot salsa was the worst thing I could imagine - especially with 100+ weather outside. Really, really hope that corporate sees this and undertakes an effort to replace their chips and salsa. Otherwise, that's definitely the last time I'll order those.

Also, for 1:00 (tail end of lunch hour), the tables inside were in desperate need of being cleared and wiped down.

My previous review was 5 stars. Really hope my next visit returns this to at...

Buckle up.

As of Wednesday (01/15/25), they have changed their menu and NOT for the better. I'm one of their biggest fans with many free rewards for my patronage, and I have never touted as many eating establishments as I have Velvet Taco, however, there are very few taco choices left, maybe two per category--and ALL my favorites are gone: Sweet Crispy (Thai) Shrimp (so sweet and spicy!), Cuban Pork, Picnic Chicken, Cordon Bleu, to name a few. They're going to "bowls", but haven't replaced the missing tacos with bowl variations. I, personally, am not a fan of bowls--of any kind, anywhere. They are SO wasteful. How many times have you left a restaurant and seen all the bowls left on the tables FULL of wasted food? Usually the unhealthy "fillers"--lots of rice or noodles. In this day and age of social consciousness for starving countries around the world, who wants to see that? In this day and age of healthy eating options, who chooses to fill up on empty carbs (usually left behind to waste anyway)? As for the other options I tried tonight were the Elote and a margarita on the rocks. Now, initially, I thought the corn silk threads in the Elote added a quaint charm, but over time, grew weary of the corn silk stuck in my teeth (even though the corn was canned). You'll be happy to know they've changed that opting instead for a much cheaper, poorer quality of canned corn. The margaritas (which were made with a mix), were pretty decent for a fast food drive thru. They've opted instead for a much cheaper, poorer quality mix (sensing a trend?) which I find barely palatable and disgusting.

It's Velvet Taco--not Velvet Bowls. I'm so...

Nestled in the heart of Velvet Taco's menu are two tacos that redefine the art of taco-making with every bite. Imagine biting into the Spicy Paneer taco: as you take your first bite, the flavors dance on your palate. The spiced paneer melts into a creamy raita crema, perfectly balanced by the freshness of Thai basil. Each bite is a journey through layers of spice and coolness, wrapped snugly in a soft flour tortilla that cradles every nuanced flavor.

Then, there's the Beer Battered Cauliflower taco, a crispy revelation waiting to be savored. With each bite, the crunch of perfectly battered cauliflower gives way to a creamy embrace of queso blanco and a zesty kick from Texas Pete's sabor sauce. Topped with avocado corn pico and a delightful sprinkle of candied pepitas, every element harmonizes to create a symphony of textures and tastes in your mouth. Enclosed in a warm flour tortilla, this taco is not just a meal but a sensory experience that leaves you craving more.

Velvet Taco doesn't just serve tacos; it crafts stories of flavor that linger long after the last bite. Whether you're a taco aficionado or a curious foodie, these creations promise an unforgettable culinary journey that celebrates creativity and boldness...

Interesting taco concept. I will say that each taco definitely has its own flavor profile as well as unique elements. I tried 3 tacos: Slow Roasted Angus - This was my favorite, plenty of tender brisket. I will say the tortilla soft tortilla smash cov in cheese, like a parmesan crisp. Picnic chicken - tasty taco and a little messy, so it was nice that they gave a little spoon/fork as the fillings and sauce fell out. Spicy Tikka Chicken tasted like instant tikka on the go. It's not bad, but I would have like more spicyness. For dessert, I had the red velvet slice. Warning: This is a very sweet item, and I'm sure I was in a diabetic stage hrs after I ate 1/3 of this. I could eat it all as all the elemnt were very sweet. The cake was dense and moist but too sweet for my liking. The frosting was also very sugary, like a buttercream with a hint of cream cheese. I wish it was a tart cream cheese to cut the sweetness. It also came with a sweet caramel like drizzle. I did drizzle but regretted it as it was also very sweet. Now, I will say I would not mind that drizzle in some black coffee, but that's another adventure. If you like over the top sweetness, get the cake.

Tacos are Velvet. Let me explain. Everyone knows velvet is a type of fabric. Very plush. Thick. Fuzzy. At flea markets, you may find a drawing of Elvis Presley or perhaps Willie Nelson drawn on velvet. Black velvet. Which isn't at all what Bobby Vinton was singing about in his song "Blue Velvet" (https://youtu.be/icfq_foa5Mo?si=iLn4CzLqF_DMDTiz) He was heartbroken because the love of his life left him. That girl wore blue velvet, now, who wears blue velvet? Unless he was referring to some sort of blue lingerie, there is not a reason anyone should wear ---> blue velvet. It's uncomfortable. I guess. I don't really have the experience of wearing it. Velvet Taco does have Red Velvet cake. It's not fabric. You can't wear it. It's a cake you eat. So eat it. And while you're at it. eat some innovative tacos with someone you love. This is assuming the love of your life hasn't left you. Yet. In any case, you have it better than Bobby Vinton. Not only did the love of his life split the scene for more promising pastures . . .Bobby Vinton isn't alive anymore. So once more, enjoy your tacos. Eat some cake. Live!

I recently had the pleasure of organizing a catered business lunch with Velvet Tacos, and I must say, it was an absolute hit! From the moment we placed the order to the final bite, our experience with Velvet Tacos exceeded all expectations. OK let's talk about the tacos. They were amazing. The taco options were diverse and catered to every palate, from the traditional classics to unique and innovative creations that left us craving for more. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every taco, and the attention to detail in the preparation was truly commendable. But let me tell you about the real showstopper - the Red Velvet Cake. If you thought tacos were the highlight, wait until you sink your teeth into this heavenly creation. The moist and decadent layers of red velvet cake, generously slathered with cream cheese frosting, were simply divine. It was love at first bite, and we couldn't resist going back for seconds (and maybe even thirds). The Red Velvet Cake alone is reason enough to choose Velvet Tacos for any occasion!
