I recently went to the Wedding Day Diamond store in Bloomington with plans on shopping for an engagement ring. I was greeted by a cheerful sales staff and noticed the store was clean and presentation was great. I was promptly offered a cup of coffee. I took the cup and prepared myself for an onslaught of trial-closes, attempted upselling, etc.
What I found was quite the opposite. The woman who helped me took her time in asking me about the kind of ring I was interested in. She also asked insightful questions about my girlfriend, and educated me on what to look for in a diamond. She was knowledgeable on the warranties the company offered and was able to articulate why Wedding Day stood apart from the competition. Once I picked a ring and diamond, she made sure to have the ring finished in time for our vacation (where I was going to propose) and also said she would have an appraisal ready for me when I picked up the ring.
This is where my great Wedding Day experience falls off. I went in to pick up my diamond and asked for the appraisal so I could set up insurance on the ring (the ring had been completed and back at the store in storage for several days by then). She had not completed it yet but assured me she would have it completed by end of day. She said she would forward it onto me or work with me in getting it to the insurance company. I went ahead and set up an account with the insurance company and waited for her follow up, which never came. After our vacation, I finally called Wedding Day and was told the appraisal was finished and would be faxed to the insurance company. It’s been about three days since then and I just followed up with the insurance company and they confirmed it has not yet been received.
The lack of follow-up on the appraisal and just general no follow-up is honestly quite disappointing. At the very least, I would expect follow up on the appraisal as they know I’ve been looking for it. But as a sales person; why wouldn’t you take the opportunity to also see how the ring fits, how she likes it, make some small talk about the vacation? Not only would that give the salesperson an opportunity to build on the relationship, it would also be a way to start the conversation on coming in and looking at wedding bands. I’ve been told that a lot of their business comes from referrals, so I would think that one would want to make every client feel like their business is appreciated. After purchasing my ring and walking out of the store on day one, I felt like a true client of Wedding Day Diamonds ready to continue the relationship well into the future. Now, I feel like just a customer that walked in and was able to be closed on...
Read moreDiana at Wedding Day Diamonds in Richfield, MN saved us! My husband and I originally purchased our engagement and wedding band at Rogers and Holland (spoiler alert: stay FAR FAR away from R and H!) We had a protection plan and a warranty with R and H when we purchased our rings. When Covid hit and we were due to be under quarantine with the upcoming governor announcement, out of nowhere, my hands and fingers swelled up over night. I tried absolutely everything before deciding to go into R and H to get it cut off. Oil, lotion, windex, fishing line YouTube tricks and even sticking my hand in a bowl of ice water for 7 minutes. My ring was originally sized at an 8 and it was NOT coming off. I got it cut off at the R and H in Burnesville and was told to wait 6-9 weeks before checking a new rings sized due to broken capillaries/inflammation in my fingers. Quarantine was announced and as many of you know, stores closed their doors left and right. We weren't able to bring my ring in to be fixed for months. We brought my ring in to the Roseville R and H and they told us they would call us as soon as possible to discuss the repairs. No one called, after 3 weeks I asked my husband to call to see if they had any information. We were then told by an R and H representative that the cut ring was not covered under our protections or warranty and it would cost $550.00 BUT they would give us a courtesy discount of $50.00, bringing in down to $500.00. I was dumbfounded. We were so upset, we had been told it was covered when it was cut. I even wrote a long email explaining them the medical emergency and what was I suppose to do? Leave the ring on my swollen finger? They replied within 30 minutes and said it wasn't covered and they won't make any exceptions. I contacted Diana at Wedding Day and she quoted us $190.00 and was extremely communicative through the whole process. My ring was ready for pick up within a few days of dropping it off. She even customized my new size and we got it set at 9.25. It was a perfect fix **kudos to the in store jeweler who did the work!! Happy to have this whole mess over with and thankful for...
Read moreSo when my fiancé and I initially visited wedding day diamonds I was getting my phone fixed at a store nearby. To kill some time we popped into wedding day diamonds and looked around to get some design ideas about what we wanted in terms of rings. When we visited the store we had my fiancé's little puppy and we couldn't leave her in the car. The staff were totally cool with allowing here to be in the store with us. She was very well behaved and bonus she loved all the attention! When it came to how the staff treated us I couldn't be more happy. We were treated like people instead of a dollar sign. We didn't feel pressured or pushed towards anything. Also, they were very up front about pricing. Riley sat down with my fiancé and was very clear with how much certain things cost and were very respectful of my fiancé's budget. When I was looking at rings that caught my attention, my consultant Kate, was very respectful and professional and we were even able to bounce idea's off one another because I wanted a ring that incorporated my fiancé's and I's birthstones. When my fiancé was ready to ask me the big question my ring wasn't ready yet. However, Wedding day diamonds allowed him to use the model from the store (which was fake) to propose to me with. How many stores can you say allow that? (btw I wasn't mad at all that he didn't propose to me with the real ring. I was just happy to say yes to my best friend). When I eventually received my ring, again amazing professionalism from the store, they presented the ring and it was stunning. I also am impressed with the warranty that Wedding Day Diamonds provides. I can say 100% that I would feel taken care of if anything, god forbid, happens to my ring. When I called later on to start the process of picking out my fiancé's ring, I called and was welcomed with a friendly call from Diana. All in all a wonderful experience and I would definitely purchase from this particular store again. I do not review many establishments but my review is for Richfield Wedding Day Diamonds and does not reflect the quality of other Wedding Day...
