Be careful placing a loved one in The Grave Care N Wellness. Before they accept a patient, they come out and evaluate the patient for the amount of care the patient requires. This place is an assistant living facility. They do however, expect patients that require assistance getting up, going to the bathroom, getting dress, etc. Being that a staff member evaluated my Mother prior to her admission, they knew she required a high level of care. They assured my sister that they would not let my Mother fall through the cracks. They assured her that my Mother's room would be right next to the nurses stations. The room they assigned my Mother was not a good fit for her. The bathroom had a bathtub instead of a walk in shower. Therefore they give my Mother another room, which was the VERY LAST room in the hall way. Once again the staff re-assured the family my Mother would be checked on though out the day. The staff told us that there are call lights in the room. And all my Mother had to do was press the call light. Well let me tell you, what they didn't tell us was, the call board for the call ights is located on a different floor! And they are not able to communicate with the patient asking what they need. The person that gets the call light informs the care giver that the call light was on in room C315. And another thing they don't tell you is, there is only 1 care giver for the entire place!! So it could be 2 hours before anyone would come into the room. By that time, my poor Mother could not hold herself and would have an accident outside of the toilet. So that means she would have to sit her dirty diaper until someone came in. And because she had to sit in a dirty diaper, she kept getting UTI's. We were told that my Mother did not use her call light, and they replace the call night 3 times, and still no one would come for hours. I would go visit my Mother and walk into the room in a complete disaster. She would be asleep in her chair, and the staff would give her a breathing treatment and leave the room. They did not check on her. I would get there and she would be asleep in her chair with the respiratory treatment mask in between her and the chair. It had been there for sometime because it was hot. The end of the first week, the nursing staff give my Mother her night time meds. They give her, her pain medications and a sleeping pill. My Mother had to be rushed to the ER because the medication she was given was an over dose. My Mother was legarthy, didn't know where she was, confused. (Another thing they don't tell you is the person giving out the medication is NOT a licensed nurse. The guy that was giving my Mother her meds, applied for a janitor job there, instead they give her the position of handing out medications! I couldn't believe it. Needless to say we took my Mother out of that place! The care was so bad that a nurse from hospice told my sister to get my Mother out of there. The caregiver also stated she knew that my Mother was nothing getting the proper care. My Mother was so sick, that she ended up in the hospital for several weeks after leaving The Grave Care N Wellness. If your love one needs any kind of assistance I highly recommend, you do NOT place them here. Keep looking!! My Mother had a lot medical problems, not able to ambulate on her own.She has passed away now, and this place certainly did not help her in anyway.!! I feel the lack of care she was given excelled her passing away. And after all this, the admission office keeps calling my sister to tell her my Mother still owes $1100.00 REALLY for what they didn't take care of her properly. MY sister informed them that my Mother had no monies left at her time of death. They don't care, they told my sister they are sending it to a collection agency. Please don't be fooled by the friendly staff. This place is so deceiving. Honestly I don't know how they have be able to remain open. If I could of given -10 stars...
Read moreI came to The Grove in the fall. I stayed on the 2nd floor, the SNF level. I was impressed with the amount of privacy I was afforded because that is very important to me. Being able to be behind a closed door has made me feel more comfortable. The physical therapists, Carrie and Elena, and the Occupational Therapists Dr. Tiffany and Sonia have been patient with my chatty nerves as they kindly guided my recovery. Carrie is a brilliant therapist with a great deal of intuition. Erica was a therapist who understood how important my religion was to my recovery and she respected it. I was very surprised to find such a wonderful array of cable stations available to me. The nurses like Maryann, Rhodelia, and Delphine were kind and the C.N.A.'s always made me comfortable and helped me maintain my hygiene. Marie, the activities director is the most caring, kind-hearted person and very well suited for her job. Elmer is in charge of maintenance and is quick to attend to any complaint. It can be frightening being in that position But the staff there made it much easier.
UPDATE: 7-3-23 A few weeks ago, some caring employees of the Grove were driving down the road and noticed an older woman walking her dog. As they watched her, she had fallen in the street and was incapacitated. The staff at the Grove are very special and ever vigilant - this was one of their residents! The two of them jumped into action; Maria calling for emergency services and securing the client's pup, while Nurse Neddie attended to her medical needs. They were their kind, warm, wonderful selves, doing something they consider unremarkable in a very remarkable way. They stayed with her until she was escorted to the hospital and took care of her pooch too seeing to it that he had care in his owner's absence. That's the kind of care you can expect at The Grove Care and Wellness. What more could...
Read moreI’m Writing This Review Because I’m A Neighbor To This Assisted Living And Recently My Package Was Delivered To Them And They Basically Stole It. I Received The Notifications From Amazon That The Package Was Delivered And Signed For By The Receptionist Lorania. My Girlfriend Made The First Attempt To Retrieve Package, She Spoke Directly With Loraina Who Stated She Did Sign For The Package And They Told Her It Was Sent To The Third Floor And That It Couldn’t Be Found. I Then Made A Second Attempt Were I Was Sent Up To The Third Floor To Speak To “Wellness Coordinator” Only To Be Told That They Were Gone For The Day. I Told The Receptionist I Wanted To Speak The Administrator, She Said He Wasn’t In And Gave Me A Card. I Did State I Wanted My Package Or Reimbursement. The Following Day I Received A Phone Call From Kip The Administrator Who Stated “Package Could Not Be Found” And “ The Best Thing To Do Is Move On” “It’s Amazon, Just Order A Refund” I Told Him That Wasn’t They Point And They Shouldn't Sign For Packages That Aren’t Theirs. And Yes It’s True I Could Order A Refund And If I’m Being Honest They Were Just Hallowed Decorations I Bought For My Job But The Way This Was Handled Was Pathetic. They’re Thieves Who Committed Fraud By Stealing My Mail. And Cherry On Top They Did The Exact Same Thing To My Neighbor. Here Hoping They Don’t Steal Anymore Of...
