Dutson's Farm — Attraction in Riverton

**Update to the response: Contrary to Kristy's response, I did not show up unexpectedly. I spoke with her on the phone beforehand and informed her I was coming. Upon arrival, she was in her pajamas, and I told her my husband would join us shortly. She instructed us to go to the back and said she’d be out, but left us waiting for 20 minutes. I have timestamps of texts and phone calls that went unanswered.

I was excited to see the farm because Kristy painted a very appealing picture over the phone, but the reality was disappointing. I never sought a tour, nor did she offer one. I wouldn’t walk around aimlessly on someone else’s property.

I never told Kristy how to care for the ducks(see screenshot); I simply asked questions because she didn’t take the time to explain anything. Her accusation of me being a “Karen” and her claim that I encouraged friends to leave negative reviews are false. I have not asked anyone to do that, nor even told anyone about this situation.

Kristy also accused me of trespassing and stealing other animals, which is baseless and offensive. Her victim mentality and the way she twists the truth are alarming. She deserves this review for her unprofessional and negligent behavior.

Original review: I am extremely disappointed with the treatment and care provided by Kristy at her farm. We entrusted her with our rescue ducks, but the entire experience was a nightmare. When we arrived, we were told to take the ducks to the back and waited for 20 minutes in the hot sun with no guidance or assistance. Kristy, the owner, was busy preparing for a pool party and couldn't be bothered to address us directly.

Eventually, her daughter showed us to a hot shed where we were told to place the ducks in a metal trough with no access to water for swimming or food. My questions about their living conditions went unanswered because Kristy was too busy. She claimed we could come by anytime to see and play with them, but that was far from reassuring.

When Kristy texted me today with an update, I had more questions about their care, her response was dismissive, telling me to take the ducks back if I wasn't satisfied. She then blocked my number and posted a derogatory message about me on Facebook. With her text saying to come get them back, we will be retrieving our ducks and we will find a more suitable place for them.

My husband & I came to Dutson Farms for a date night. I needed to get away from the chaos of life which either meant hopping on a plane & taking off or finding something local where I could escape for a while. Then we found Dutson Farms. Who would have known that there was a place to "get away" within close driving distance of my own backyard. Dustin Farms was exactly what I needed. I got to spend time with the farm animals, petting donkeys, miniature goats, llamas, & bunnies. I even got to pet a turkey & a goose. How many people can say that they had a turkey & goose fighting for their attention? My husband and I got to relax in a hot tub, enjoy a steam shower & reconnect (finding more about each other), through a conversational card game. We got to have a special, home cooked meal, on a silver platter with wine glasses, & roses. Kristie is a fantastic cook & we had the lasagna. It was so good. I don't even like lasagna but she converted me to it. The salad was fantastic & the chocolate bark & fresh raspberries wonderful. Kristie pays attention to all the details. The place shouts romance. It's the nicest, most romantic bed & breakfast we've been to in Utah & we've frequented others. Kristie loves people, having fun, & making good memories for people. We held our work party there for the past two years.

It’s such an excellent and eclectic space. We absolutely love having the barnyard animals around, Being able to see the chickens, ducks, peacocks, mini donkeys, and alpacas just brightens everyone’s day day.

We are big fans of the fenced off backyard area with the hot tubs and the swimming pool, They had such a selection of things for the kids houses carnival rides, basketball shooting games, hot dog machines.

The event space is beautiful with a full kitchen as well as a hot tub right out the kitchen door. Last year we did a spaghetti buffet, This year we did a sweet pork taco buffet. Both were great for feeding masses and our staff was extremely happy.

Kristy was on hand to answer any questions we had and make sure all our needs were met.
