Bought a purple mattress in January. Was not told about any restock fees if we decided to return the mattress. The mattress was extremely comfortable, but apparently too comfortable, because it gave me chronic back pain. I was on oxy, going to the chiropractor and physical therapist three times a week each, icing, using a tens unit, Chirp wheel, doing back exercises at the gym, three rounds of PRP blood platelet injections, and it didn't put a dent in the pain. Realized it was because of the mattress, so we took the mattress back.
Then they surprised us with a $250 "transportation charge". "It's not a restock fee" they said. Liars! So shady! Tried to fight this for months but they wouldn't yield. But they did for other people so I am not sure why they waived the fee for some but not for me.
We ended up going to a different retailer in the area that offered a truly free return if we decided to return our mattress. They also sell Purple beds there but we went with Tempur (one of the firm beds they offer). Instantly, overnight, my back pain was gone. Guess I just needed a firm mattress! I still can't believe that a mattress made 100% more difference than chiropractic and physical therapy and all that other stuff combined.
I would never buy a Purple mattress directly from Purple. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. If you insist on trying out a Purple mattress, buy from ANYWHERE ELSE.
I will say that we still kept the pillows because they are incredibly comfortable. But again, don't buy from Purple directly because they make you ship your returns back to Georgia (we took back the sheets we bought, too). And they don't pay for that shipping. They offer thin pillows for stomach sleepers and thicker pillows for everyone other type of sleeper. You REALLY gotta try one of their pillows (from a more reasonable retailer)! COLORADO...
