I think Jody has single handedly brought my love back for Pokemon. One random day last year, my best friend Erin and I decided to walk in the building and check it out. To our surprise the prices, atmosphere, and organization were all amazing. At first we were kind of nervous to talk to Jody but literally after our first conversation it was so easy to talk to him. Eventually Erin and I kept going monthly and Jody remembered us each time. One moment that I appreciate very much was when jody wasn't having the best day so we ripped open a Japanese booster box and it was so much fun. This cheered him up and he pulled a card that Erin wanted so he sold it to us but he accidentally priced us for the English price (which is more expensive). The next time we came back he told us we had store credit for something we didn't even know lol. Overall this is the best store that has pokemon and cards in general. Jody is the coolest guy and is very genuine. His loyalty and attitude towards his clients are some I've never seen in any business. I was able to find the cards I've always wanted for the best prices. I am forever grateful I can shop here and be friends with Jody. Please let him know he's highly appreciated by Erin and I....
Read moreI had an incredible experience my first time in the shop! I walked in expecting to poke around for 10-15 minutes and check out their stock before coming back at a later date to make a purchase...I ended up walking out 2 hours later with a handful of some of my favorite modern and vintage raw sports cards, as well as 3 new boxes of sealed wax (all baseball this time). They have a really great collection of cards - sports, Pokemon, magic, other non-sports trading cards - with options for all ages and budgets. Most importantly in my situation (returning to the hobby with "adult-money"), the staff was extremely knowledgeable and helped me make decisions on my own least-educated-yet-most-expensive part of the hobby, selecting sealed wax. They also let me browse the store comfortably and not once hassled me like I've experienced at other cards. I was able to relax and enjoy the hobby. I'm super thankful that I found them...my wallet is not so thankful...and I plan to head back there soon. Big recommendation for Nick and the team over at Rochester Sports Cards and...
Read moreI went to get my collection of old Pokemon cards looked at, and the guy there that looks at them was a little rude. He kept making disapproving noises and saying all the conditions were horrible, even though the majority of them have never left the plastic sleeves they were put it. He then told me the rarest card I had he could probably only get 100$ out of so he was willing to offer me about $150 for the whole collection, but I thought that was kind of weird so went home did some more research and put the Rare Charizard 1999 Holo Card on ebay and it went for $250 dollars. If I were you I wouldn't sell your cards to them it seems like they are trying to rip you off.
Edit: You mis-read my review, I said I put it up on ebay not that I was looking at ones and what people had priced them for, I have attached a picture of the card you said would go at most for $150 but probably $100. Final price for one card in the entire collection was $400. And to be clear, it wasn't your valuation of the collection that upset me the most, but how you acted while...
