This was a beautiful trail system. I live close by so I walked there with my dog, but there was ample space for parking if I had chosen to drive. The trail is part of the National Parks System, so it is a pay area ($5.00, free for people with permanent disabilities and they give you a decal to place on your dashboard upon payment).

The Allenbrook House is at the main entrance of the park. I didn't go inside, I'm not sure if you actually can. But it belonged to a couple who owned an Ivy Mill during the Civil War and now belongs to the parks department.

There are different options as to which trails you can take along your way, some more difficult than others, but overall it it was a great hike; not too long or strenuous. I was led to believe according to the maps along the trail that there was a bridge connecting me to the way out, but I was mistaken, as it was the bridge of the roadway above, so one would have to essentially turn around and hike their way back to their vehicle.

*I only took my dog's leash off...

I enjoyed my evening hike on the Vickery trail. The trail was surely popular as it was filled with folks of all ages. Some were walking like me, others enjoying the beautiful waterfalls and others (kids mostly) playing among each other and in the waters.

Depending on which turn you take initially, your path could either be overly crowded or deserted for the most part. I chose the latter unknowingly, but ended up cherishing it :) as I had loads of time to explore on my own. It was a 3.8 mile loop and there were trail maps that were very helpful. I highly recommend wearing a good pair of walking shoes as some parts of the trail were too steep and slippery.

And oh, I crossed a river on a metal pipe with no handrails for the first time in my life! Yeah it was crazy lol

This is my first spot on this River, I went there as the images posted had stairs. But once i went to this place there are no stairs and not even proper directions. The place looked really shady, and it got worse when i saw the sign "Don't leave anything in the car" board. Any way we tried to walk down the grass towards the building, then we got to the cliff where you have to do little bit of trekking to reach river, it was fun as it is a small trek. I could not find any rocks to sit and relax, you can relax on the sand by the way even though it was not super clean. But I thing about this is you will find a water pipe across the river where you can cross to the other side of the river,...
