One of my absolute favorites that I've discovered so far. It's almost a hidden gem. I came up to visit a friend from Mobile, Alabama and while she was working she had made a list of state parks around the area, she knew I loved to be outside and explore. This was one of the parks she suggested, so I took a chance and went and I have to say I'm glad to have discovered this breathtaking park. The parking can be a little tricky if you don't get there early but it almost seems like this is a hidden park in the middle of town. The Falls is an easy hike to get to and the trails are pretty good to take on the other side. Let me say the falls are breathtaking, and the fact that you can actually get into and under the waterfall is even better. There is an old Mill that you can see the parts still resting on the ground. I ended up staying all day while my friend was at work. It's that peaceful, the best part is it was also my birthday that weekend which made it even more special. I ended up going back a second time before leaving to head back to Alabama and getting in the Waterfall. I would be back in a heartbeat! Can't say enough about this...
Read moreLovely park in the heart of Roswell. Historic mill, covered bridge and trails to the dam/waterfalls on either side of the creek. The trail to the left of the mill is shorter and involves very few stairs to get to the dam. If you cross the covered bridge there are quite a few metal stairs to the trail that will take you to the falls with a longer walk on uneven terrain. They have recently restricted access to the water and they had quite a few cops enforcing the new ordinance. We arrived relatively early on a Sun morning and there were enough parking spots available in the lot farther from the mill, but by the time we left it was all full. There seem to be other lots closer to the dam as we saw people approaching the waterfalls from the upstream side. Overall a pleasant shade covered trail with the sound of gushing water - we did not cover the entire trail and a few turns resulted in dead ends. The water itself is smelly and I couldn't imagine why anybody would like to access it anyways. There was an overfilled trash bag left alongside the trail, some amount of litter too. Restrooms and water founatins are...
Read moreI am a 10 year old and Vickery Creek Falls was an okay park. The falls and the environment were overall beautiful, but since the falls were man made, they did not feel that natural. Also, they should put a entrance fee for the park. Since the park does not have that much good maintenance since it is getting funded by every park in Roswell, it can get more money to improve the park. When we went to see the waterfall close up, we had to climb down some steep rocks that is a little risky, so they should make those rocks into stairs by using the entrance fee if they had one. It can also create a lesser amount of crowd and since most people are not wearing masks, it could be unsafe for everyone even if they took the vaccine. And the parking lot is too full, so they should let us park somewhere else. I prefer not to go on long weekend to this park because of the high crowd. I request the City of Roswell, Park & Rec. dept. to improve this park. But, you should go...
