[Time & Date of visit] 7:30 pm- Thursday night
Party Size: 4
[Location/Ambiance] Casual kind of vibe. The ordering line is formed nearing the open area near the bar, then leading to where the cashiers are at. It's a "fast casual" kind of setting, where you order and pay at the counter, are given a number while you pick out a table or booth, and then the food is brought to your table. Through out the dining area are tables and booths for 4. A family behind us didn't mind combining two tables for all of their kids. Noise level was average, you can clearly carry a conversation with out raising your voice I believe.
[Service] I'm docking a point due to the cashier confirming that what I wanted to order was the toppings from The Coop" chicken sandwich but on a burger. She even asked how I wanted it cooked. Though what I was given was actually just the "Coop" chicken sandwich. It's probably less confusing to just order the Entrepreneur burger and add the sides. Though we met up another fellow yelper and husband, I guess we continued to carry our conversations pass the closing hour. The wait staff actually waited for us until 10pm. With out mentioning anything to us. It wasn't until the cashiers/food runners were putting up the chairs that we decided we shouldn't hold them up anymore. Thank you for your patience with us Moxie Burger. Lost points earned back for sure.
[Food Highlights] The Cadillac - I got to take a pic, but since I thought my burger was on it's way I didn't ask for a bite. Missed out. My friend killed it, even though she claims to be not big on burgers (=P).
The Coop - This sandwich isn't photogenic, every pic I took didn't look too appealing. I'm just going to scratch out the pics and take one later. I rather not upload something unappetizing. The chicken was cooked well I think. It's was pretty moist through out though the toppings contributed to the flavor. I think by itself, this wouldn't be surviving on the menu long of being ordered. - Ok, pretty good
Sweet Potato Fries (Shared) - Served in a basket, with generous portions, this is made for +2. Their version is dusted with a bit of cinnamon and sugar. With a sauce cup of honey mustard to dip in. Trust me, I know, "HONEY MUSTARD?!" It's actually not that bad of a combination. The honey mustard is only slightly sweet. I couldn't determine if I like it more with just ketchup or the honey mustard. - Good
{Summary}: I think I will have to retry this place and make sure I get a burger this time. On their site they announce that Zagat gave them #5 for top 5 burgers in Atlanta. 3.5 stars for now, but hoping to revisit...
Read moreWe’ve been coming to this location for years as we live down the street. But tonight we had such a poor experience with what I’m told was “one of the managers” I doubt we will be back. The bar was full except for two empty chairs at the end but there was a backpack in one of them. So we asked the young guy behind the bar if anyone was sitting there as we were looking to saddle up and spend some money. He said “well I’m sitting there but I’m not really working”. So we went to a table where we couldn’t get service and we watched as he continued to just hang out behind the bar while those chairs sat empty. When we went and ordered two drinks at the bar and the bartender brought them over she told us she couldn’t serve us food because we weren’t sitting at the bar. I said well there are two empty seats we’d like to sit in right there but the guy behind the bar claims they are his seats. When I asked to speak to a manager she said “well he is one of the managers” so I said “that explains the poor service”. Clearly he’s not an owner or he would behaved differently and let paying customers sit down rather than hold the chairs for when he might want to sit down. He never sat in the seats and about 30 minutes later he grabbed his bag and left about the same time we were leaving. I told him in the parking lot what a bad experience that was and he said “what I need permission to stand up?” He went on to tell me not to come back. Don’t worry I won’t and with this kind of management the restaurant will just keep...
Read moreI HATE leaving these types of reviews, but I feel this is only fair so management understands and local patrons can remain informed.
Unfortunately, I came down with food poisoning after eating here on April 18th, approx. 4 or 5pm.
I was visiting right before conducting a speaking event and this place was within walking distance. I ordered a side salad and fries, and left it at that. All other food I had eaten at home, including the previous day, and shared meals with my spouse, who wasn't sick.
This was the only possible place I could have pick food poisoning up, considering my other food and drink were from my own home. I was ill the following 2 days and felt really lucky that it was mild. However, it still cost me another speaking event, as I had to cancel. Who wants to listen to a speaker that has to interrupt themselves every 30 minutes to be sick? NO ONE.
My only guess is improper food safety. There weren't very many staff on hand when I went, and they were all extremely young.
My side salad came with overly warm ranch dressing... which I ignored like a ding-dong and didn't send back. The food itself tasted fine, but I think the near-hot ranch dressing was what did me in.
Please, work with your younger staff and inform them of dairy safety and food handling safety. You could really hurt someone who is elderly or immune-compromised. It only takes ONE unfortunately slip.
Best of luck, I...
