Club Raven — Restaurant in Sacramento

Even with the Covid restrictions, this place has a loyal bunch of regulars. It had been 6 or 7 years since my last visit here, as I don't make it into Sac often, coming from Santa Cruz. But I grew up in the neighborhood and went to Sutter Middle School. When I walked in on Sunday night around 11:30pm the half dozen or so patrons, all locals, clearly had gotten a head start on drinking, and were friendly and welcoming. One generous lad even bought a round and included me, followed by another wishing to buy another round (which I surprisingly declined, and still question myself about that). They have a nice outdoor patio area set up for Covid compliance with a couple mini fire pits, and a couple TVs they wheel in at closing time. The pkace is well kept, there's big bottles of hand sanitizer out for everyone's use, and the restrooms are clean and neat, while still carrying over that classic dive bar bathroom ummmm... "Ambiance". I went in a day later, on a Tuesday afternoon, and as a former competitive league soccer player in Sac, I was stoked to find a small group of people thoroughly engaged in a soccer match on TV. I stopped by this place just to use the restroom I thought to myself oh, this is a really nice place. I might start coming here. Come out after using the restroom, immediately get hit by are you going to buy something from the bartender? In a very hostile manner? I said I was thinking about it and told him I was just using the restroom then he asks for my id and is looking at me all suspicious like it wasn’t me on the id.I usually don’t even write reviews but this guy really rubbed me the wrong way. If you know, you know. A locals bar that has cheap pours but awesome people and a super clean and cozy. The owner even puts a cute little jar of fresh flowers on each table everyday. There is a lounging area with a couch and chairs, and the ladies bathroom (It's a one stall) has a tiny powder room with mouthwash cups, with mouthwash and I think hand lotion.
