It’s Friday (2/24) dinner and it’s just my wife and my daughter. Getting here is just an easy ride down J street. Parking was easy along the neighborhood area. The restaurant is fairly small compared to the other Tres Hermanas location. We were able to get a table quickly (was around 6pm) without having to wait. Our server was great. She was polite and very hospitable. She took our order which included a combination plate (Verde Burrito with side of Enchilada) and Dinner Plate (Verde plate). The food came out fresh from the kitchen within 10-15 minutes from ordering. It was very delicious. Not overly seasoned and packed with flavors. The pork pieces were very tender. The side of rice with the beans turned out very good too. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. We did order drinks (2 margaritas) but unfortunately both were very disappointing. My wife got a Patron Margarita and I got their House 3 Hermanas Margarita. Neither of us can taste the tequila in the drink. The sweet and sour they used overwhelmed the cocktail - Not fresh at all. At about $14-$15 a drink, it was a complete dud and fell very short of expectations. We are used to quality cocktails from other well established Mexican Eateries in the Sacramento area. Our bill came to about $90 with tax and tips for two meals (wife and daughter shared a plate), two cocktails, and a soda. That’s rather high for the mixed experience.
Here are the ratings: Restaurant (5/5), Service (5/5), Food (5/5), Drinks (1/5), Value to Price Ratio (2.5/5), and Overall Experience (3.5/5). We would probably order from here again but would do it “To Go” instead just for the food. We would stay away from their cocktails or just get something from tap (e.g. Beer) instead. 3 Hermanas… Good Food, Good Service, but Bad Drinks.

Read moreWe ordered this on Door Dash thinking it was Tres Hermanas...it is not. Not by a long shot. Its my understanding that the owner is one of the "3 Sisters" of Tres Hermanas fame but I don't think she brought the recepies with her because this food was...meh at best.
We ordered the mixed, steak and chicken, fajitas and a side of bean dip. The order arrived quickly. The food looked like typical Mexican take out. Fajitas in a container with beans and rice, guac and sour cream in with the meat and peppers...and mushrooms and squash...weird. Two tortillas, the afore mentioned "bean dip", a bag of chips, and a cup of salsa.
The fajitas: mostly beef, very little chicken and lots of veggies. They were pretty much tasteless Beans and rice: beans needed salt but fine. The rice was standard Mexican rice that you find at most Mexican restaurants. Bean dip: refried beans with cheese on top and some chopper tomatoes and avocado thrown on top. Again, tasteless. Chips: needed salt but fine Salsa: it was OK but again tasteless
So bottom line...tasteless. I was mostly disappointed that it wasn't actually Tres Hermanas because they are great. And I am sure they are hoping that others think its the same food. Its not. I know it seems harsh to give such a low star rating but its deceptive to call yourself 3 Hermanas when their is Tres Hermanas and it is known as a great...
Read moreMy wife is in the hospital, and we were trying to find something good to eat to lift her spirits. We lived in midtown for a long time, and heard of this place from our neighbors but never actually were able to visit. Since she is right down the street, we decided to finally try it. We ordered online, they gave us a time for our order to be ready and we indicated what time we preferred. We knew it was lunch time and gave them adequate margin for error. I showed up at the time promised, the food was not ready. No big deal just waited knowing that from what we heard from Friends before us it would be worth it. Finally got the order, about 20 minutes late, whatever. However, the order was nowhere near what we had initially ordered. Soup was wrong, sides were wrong, basically a s* show. I can't confidently recommend this place to anyone as the food was okay, but okay food never Trump's poor service. Three stars is...
