THE CALIFORNIA STATE RAILROAD MUSEUMโS EXCURSION RAILROAD The Sacramento Southern Railroad is a 50 minute excursion train ride from The California State Railroad Museum located in Old Sacramento, Sacramento California. This morning I caught up with the train shortly after it pulled out of the station and it was traveling near the Embassy Suites Hotel along the Sacramento River. The route takes you along the Sacramento River, you can sit in an open car or and enclosed car, the views of the river and wildlife are beautiful. Super fun and beautiful ride. Really nice first class Parlor and lounge cars. Snacks and drinks were handed out. All the volunteers are super nice and know alot about the train. It was a rainy day and they were soaked and still loving what they were doing! The ticket guy was super nice and helpful too.

Great price for the value. They come up with new events all the time. The volunteers really do seem to put their all effort into their designated tasks and adds a certain charm to the experience. Just recently went on their trick or treat ride. Really cool atmosphere too with all the designs.

This was a lot of fun. The only thing I wish this tour could have included was more of a submersive train ride like going around the City or something. Overall it was good, but the ride was pretty much in a straight line. The kids loved it though and that's what counts.

I have exhausted the railroad museum from the museum capacity as well as attended the evening concerts organized by Candlelight (from The Fever)! The place and the show both are mind boggling! Absolutely love it.

Description
The Sacramento Southern Railroad is a heritage railway owned by the California State Railroad Museum which operates excursion trains on it. The railroad extends from the museum property located in Old Sacramento State Historic Park south along the east bank of the Sacramento River levee.
