Forever Books — Local services in Saint Joseph

Great little independent bookstore. I was exhausted with all my electronic readers and brain burned a bit from the intense class I was taking in St. Joseph, but needed something to read on my flight that would fit in my small cross body bag. I ran in and asked for "a physically small, paperback - literary fiction." I wanted something recent, and that meant a trade paperback. The first selection was a little big for my bag, in a compartment that also accomodates my travel blanket and a hat, but the second, "Orbital" by Samantha Harvey looked like a perfect fit. And it is a good fit as a purse stuffer and a read. You can't get this help online at A or in the big chain, B&N. You still need bookstores [and libraries] that are staffed by readers ... for readers who need something to read, need it FAST, and need it to fit in a...

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Came here with a friend of mine who has a service dog. The second my friend and her service dog (who was wearing her vest) came into the store, the employees' dog attacked my friends service dog. The employee then told my friend, "I'm assuming she's (my friends dog) is a service animal, but I don't think this one (her dogl) is. She acted like she didn't know whose dog the other one was but then told us she would be right back because she had to put the dog away. She didn't step in to stop the dog either. She questioned whether my friends dog was a service animal before picking up her dog. We left at that point. That was beyond absurd. That's a lawsuit...

Yesterday evening I went to see if I could find a book my children had read to give to my grandchildren. I had already searched numerous stores with no luck. Instantly I was greeted and quickly found the book I was looking for. I was so excited especially because I did not have to go search the big chain stores I had been already searching. They offered to wrap my book with friendly enthusiasm. So clean and well stocked and sure happy to give to a local shop. I highly recommend forever books prices were reasonable and be frequently shopping there again...
