I did not tour the institute but attended the October fest on the property (twice). It was fun! German beer and food, and the musical entertainment was good... especially the band that did popular songs originally recorded in English but they sang in German. They were very upbeat and engaging. Fun time.

We love the Germanic American Institute. So much, we are getting married here in the fall. I appreciate that there hasn't been many renovations in the space. A cozy, warm mansion - especially during the winter months. Events put on are great and members receive great perks!

St Paul Oktoberfest 2023 was very nice. Entertainment was fun, good food, got there early enough so parking was not to bad. Best piece was the attending people, we sat next to a very pleasant and engaging couple. We shared experiences of travel, food and personal tips.

We held our wedding and reception here and couldn't have asked for a better venue. The staff is amazing and accommodating and the price ended up being incredibly reasonable for being in the twin cities. Being able to provide your own beverages let us bring exactly the beer we wanted (spotted cow) and provide healthy mocktails to our younger cousins with many food allergies. The kitchen was happy to provide non-pork meal options for our Muslim friends and family with serious pork allergies, and we were told the vegetarian meal was amazing.

We saved so much on the catering that we chose to go with an additional snack during the cocktail hour (pretzels from Akis in Minneapolis) and everybody loved how comfortable everything was and great times were had by all.

Don't tell my wife that I plan on coming back for my next wedding. ;-) In all honesty though, I would consider this location for any event of the appropriate size because the food and location...

I came to the German-American Institute for their "Deutsche-Tag" celebration. They had invited me to represent our organization Cycles for Change, which they were raising funds for as an element of the bike ride they were doing for the celebration.

Everyone that I met (including the ED and many of the organizations members) was incredibly friendly, asking many questions about Cycles for Change and expressing genuine interest, with many donating generously or taking a flier for our organization with them along with the notion that they would donate with credit card later.

Overall, my experience with this organization was extremely positive, and I hope to come back again and get a chance to get to know...

We had a wedding here last fall with about 175 people and it was beautiful! The venue was a dream come true and the multiple levels worked out because guests could be upstairs dancing, downstairs talking or kids could be exploring. There was a space for every type of guest! We chose to serve very unique cuisine with our own recipes (middle eastern) and the cooks and staff nailed it! We had so many compliments on the food and everyone loved that it was different. The bartenders were very friendly and having multiple bars set up throughout the house kept everyone happy. Overall, it was a great experience as a bride, and from what we've heard, it was an amazing and fun experience for the guests! Thank...
