A nice cozy spot nestled in St. Paul that is a little piece of Brazil. You can tell the owners and workers are passionate about their business. I set up in the corner next to the children’s play area and did some work on my laptop while I drank an expresso. I was waiting for my girlfriend to arrive before I ordered food, so in the meantime I just did some work and observed the surroundings. For a Sunday afternoon this place was packed, it went from myself being one of the only ppl there to completely full in a matter of 30 minutes. There were groups that just came and shopped at the little grocery section they had. But most ppl came and ordered food.
I wish they had some of the key lime pie they advertised on the menu, but seems it was not available at the time I was there. There are not many parking spots in front of the business so you have to park along the street, luckily it’s free parking.
I don’t remember the names of the food items we ordered but it was the cheeseburger and the popular pork sandwich. We also ordered 2 passion fruit juices and 1 beef, 1 cheese empanada. The empanadas were really good, but compared to other countries I felt like they could have more seasonings and some veggies in the beef one. The passion fruit juices is really tart just an FYI not sweet at all. Which was a shock at first but then I just told myself at least I know it’s fresh and not altered. The sandwiches were both really good and surprisingly very light on the stomach. Overall very glad I knocked this on off my list. Very tasty food and very very reasonable prices. They have everything you need to stay and study, read a book, catch a quick bite, catch up with a friend, or a casual date. Well...
Read moreThis cafe is just down the street from me and l'd been meaning to try it for a while now. The inside had a little market with Brazilian items for sale. The menu was limited but we decided to order two of the Roasted Pork Sandwiches, two cheese breads, and an iced coffee. One star off for how long it took, about 30 minutes for us to receive our order to go, it seems like they do a decent amount of takeout business so maybe ordering ahead is the best idea if doing takeout.
The sandwich comes with slowly cooked pork meat chopped, mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese, and a basil fresh vinaigrette. With the wait I was wildly skeptical but hoping for the best, and the sandwiches exceeded my expectations by far! The sandwich was so delicious, perfect flavor profile, tasted fresh, and made sense as to why it took so long. Each sandwich was about $13.25 but arrived hot and were sooo savory. My partner and I were both blown away by the taste of the sandwiches, even the cheese bread was so good I can't explain the texture, it was a ball of cheese but tasted lighter(?). The coffee was alright, pretty strong which I like, but nothing special about it.
Recommend not coming on the weekend or else ordering takeout over the phone before coming in. They apparently can do larger orders as well so that's really good to know. Coffee wasn't that interesting, very basic options, but the food on the other hand was spectacular! Absolutely recommend giving Little...
Read moreIt's nice to have an option of a Brazilian market/cafe in MN, since we mainly have steakhouses around. I was able to get a few things at the market, which I was really happy about, but the cafe itself didn't impress me. First, looking at the prices I wasn't sure if it was sold by the unit or a portion. When I first saw the price of the pastel, I figured it was gonna be something big, but then I saw how small they were, and thought it was gonna be sold in a portion. $4.50 for one tiny pastel was pretty shocking! I asked the guy how many it came with, and he kinda gave me attitude "everything we sell is by the unit". Coxinha was good, but the chicken was a little dry. Also not mentioning the payment moment that I was only communicated about the credit card fee after the payment was done. They should have the payment more clear so customers can be aware of the additional fee. Overall, def going back to the market, but cafe only if I'm...
