Read moreRented the boca ciega ballroom for our wedding and generally very pleased. They allow vendors to bring food and liquor in so that can keep costs a little lower than other places. The ceremony between the buildings has the intracoastal as pretty backdrop. The upstairs patio area was excellent for mingling during cocktail hour and for guests to sneak outside during the reception to take a break. The hall has plenty of space to accommodate a group of at least 75 and the glass wall keeps the water in view all night. They also have other rooms available for use for prep/storage, including a small kitchen. We had a couple items occur that keep me from giving 5 stars. Elevator broke, which happens, but was a major inconvenience for our vendors to haul items up the stairs. The coordinator changed since our original booking so things appear to be a bit more tightly run now so be mindful of who sets up tables, chairs, and amount of time booked for the day. Bottom line: I recommend and would...
Read moreBeautiful facility. Upon entering, my daughter and I felt very discriminated against. We are locals but we are not of the social stature as those whom were in attendance today. I’m extremely anemic and couldn’t submerge myself in the cold water. Lifeguard (Joe I believe), told me no bench sitting, get in or get out and stay off the stairs as they were for people entering or exiting the pool. Embarrassing (because he yelled at me), but understandable. Five minutes later, the elite white folks were sitting on the steps and the edge of the pool for a solid 20 minutes with Joe. When it was time to leave, Joe stated “You are more than welcome to come back but just know the water will be cold “. My daughter and I were extremely embarrassed. We were treated less than. Clearly they think they are an elite country club and can discriminate. We were just looking for a fun day and discrimination got the best of us. Very sad. Very embarrassing. We are...
