My wife and I were there tonight. We have been there previously for the pizza which is great and in the past the service was great as well. I had the meat pizza and my wife the lasagna. The server came out to the table, seemed rather mad at the world and took our drink orders. After he brought our sodas out he took our order barely ever speaking a word to us. The lasagna came with a salad apparently (he never mentioned this at all and likewise never asked what dressing she wanted) as he brought one out, already covered with dressing rather than in the side. How do you know what dressing is wanted, or if someone is allergic to something? Whenever he brought something out he pretty much slams it on the table. I asked if it was still okay to smoke he said yeah without even offering to bring an ashtray. I eventually got up and got one myself. So the food comes.....once again slammed on the table. The pizza was very good as usual. My wife didn't care for the lasagna, very juicy and the sauce was very thin and appeared to be pasta sauce mixed with oil as there was a definite separation. After the server brought the bill out I had to go inside because the pen he gave me was out of ink. No big deal except he is straining his neck to see what the tip amount. What, you can't wait for me to walk away. Anyway, I think this guy is in the wrong line of work, perhaps he should go work at an oil change place or something because his disposition certainly doesn't fit the restaurant industry. I didn’t dive into the entirety of their menu. It was a light lunch for me. I started out with Bruschetta, which was absolutely delicious. I remember thinking to myself “Why is it taking so long for Bruschetta?” But when it arrived I fully understood why. Fresh tomatoes, perfectly crisp bread, the perfect balsamic drizzle. I couldn’t have been more impressed. To follow this perfectly crafted appetizer, I ordered the Calamari Salad, once again accepting that the wait time of preparation would be well worth the spoils. From the aforementioned fresh tomatoes, to the perfectly delicate pieces of calamari, to the crisp fresh greens, this salad was beyond impressive. While it was, admittedly, an unexpectedly large portion, it was easy to devour nearly the whole thing given the ensemble of delicious ingredients. The lemon dressing was light and balanced and added a perfect finishing touch. To make matters more enjoyable, the service provided by Julio was prompt and professional without being intrusive or immoderate. I look forward to further engrossing myself in their menu in the days to come. If the quality and attention supplied to these two items is any indication of the rest of their menu, then I’m sure another raving review is soon to follow.
