Early November Dinner on the Patio @ Chill - St Pete Beach
Stopped in to talk some business with the owner of Chill on Corey Ave in St Pete Beach this afternoon (Making arrangements for our 10K Member Celebration Party) when low and behold food soon changed the topic of conversation.
Ruthie Hill Buxbaum has been kind enough to offer up her restaurant for our little shindig. After-all not every group of food reviewers gets to celebrate the addition of it's 10,000th member/reviewer around these parts...RIGHT? More details about the party (November 14th starting at 5:30 PM and going on until.... - The place is all ours (Closed to the public) so who knows?) - Later
Now on to the food!
Ruthie first teased us with her order of Black & Blue Fondue
Pan seared filet tips, blistered and chargrilled cherry tomato served with a creamy blue cheese dipping fondue - OMG! My daughter had never had fondue before and considering she is a certified cheese nut, this was a big hit with her. For me the tenderness and flavor of the beef was beyond reproach and well, DAMN GOOD!
Then we sat down to dinner...
My daughter ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger with Fries - 1/2 lb of Certified Angus hand pattied goodness - with sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese. Daughter especially loved the french fries.
I got serious and ordered the Meatloaf entree - I mean REALLY? Just look at the pictures - this is a mountain of shame - why? Because I ATE THE WHOLE THING! - Took me a while, but I did it! - Black Angus Choice ground chuck meatloaf hand made and topped with BBQ sauce and Onion Straws Galore! Served over loaded Mashed potatoes with other unmentioned good stuff underneath... loaded stuff I guess - I don't really care - it was tasty!
Special mention for the side of a house salad - again see the pictures to get an idea of the kind of house this is... I honestly have not enjoyed a salad so much in a very long time. I ordered Ranch dressing to go with so I could share with daughter and darnit of the kid didn't devour about 2/3rds of this side dish. It was Sooooo Good.
The came dessert - which was highlighted in an earlier posting.
Simply called "Red" - read the menu - read our previous review post - whatever you read...... Oh My it does not cover this. I have never ever had anything associated with the terms "Red velvet Cake" that even came close to tasting this good. This is NOT red velvet Cake, mind you, it is a masterpiece of decadence!
Perfect atmosphere - wonderful food, great service by our lovely and very informative and attentive server Karen with studious and able management by George all the while we were there, attending to all sorts of details, silently and efficiently.
This is indeed the place to go, when you...

Our journey into culinary nirvana began at the bar, where a maestro of mixology crafted the most impeccably balanced cocktails we have ever had the pleasure of sipping. The Pear Martini was a symphony of delicate, fruity notes, dancing on the palate with a crisp, clean finish. The Chill Old Fashioned was a masterpiece of smooth, smoky sophistication, a timeless classic elevated to an art form.
Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we were seated and greeted by the radiant Kim, a waitress who is clearly an angel sent from the heavens of hospitality. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine passion for the food made us feel like royalty.
And the food... oh, the food! A round of applause is simply not enough. The Pork Chops were a revelation – thick, juicy, and cooked to absolute perfection, each bite more flavorful than the last. The Grouper Sandwich was the stuff of legends, a perfectly fresh and flaky fillet nestled in a pillowy bun that redefined what a sandwich could be. And the Blackened Chicken Wrap was a flavor explosion, with a zesty, spicy kick that was both thrilling and deeply satisfying.
To say we were impressed would be the understatement of the century. CHILL Restaurant & Bar has completely rewritten the rulebook for dining out. Every single element, from the divine cocktails to the phenomenal food and the stellar service from Kim, was nothing short of perfection. Do not walk, RUN to CHILL. Read morefound this restaurant by doing a local google search. as soon as we arrived at the restaurant we asked to sit outside. It was pretty hot out but it really doesn't bother me. Our waitress came over and seemed all flustered and I looked at her and she started telling me how she just had an argument with other customers and how rude they were to her. I wasn't really sure what to think. But what I did think was that it was not very professional of her. Anyway we ordered drinks. I got a skinny margarita and asked for a light amount of lime. I know what the drink consists of. But because I hadn't been here before I didn't know exactly how it was going to be made. The bartender then came out and explain to me that it was basically tequila & lime. I understood and said that it's fine. The drink was disgusting. It was a splash of tequila with about an ounce of lime juice. I didn't drink it and traded for a beer. I had a shock top it was good. I ordered Caesar salad and the roasted spaghetti squash for my entrée. The Caesar salad looked great when it came out . Then I started moving around the lettuce and everything under the top layer was brown. It was disgusting I did not eat it I pushed it to the side. It was very obvious that I hadn't eaten any but nobody asked me about it. Then my entrée came and it looked fantastic. I took a bite of a couple mushrooms and they were good. then I ate the squash 😞 and it was sour/rancid I thought maybe it was me so I took another bite and it was inedible . The server came back & she kept trying to make excuses for the food. I said don't worry about it just take it off the bill because I didn't eat anything. they did take it off. Once that whole interaction happened her attitude totally changed and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. I wouldn't recommend this place not even just to...
