Growing up i experienced a lot of hardships and the result of this was that i learned to say little and trust none. So when i walk into an establishment and instantly feel an air of welcome and comfort, naturally i go into an analytical mode to try and determine what it is that's causing me to want so easily to drop my cautionary routines. When i walked into the blind pass resort, this is exactly what happend. Once i spoke with the beautiful woman at the check in-desk though, i knew exactly why i felt so delightful. Her name is stacy and she greeted me with genuine welcome far from the put-on that comes with a job in which it is required to convey a sense of hospitality. I found stacy to be very affable and she seemed like she really took pride in her job. I felt compelled, by this encounter with her and from just the overall comfort i felt during my stay, to share my experience. I have a young daughter whos almost 10 that i hardly get to spend time with. I booked my room online for fathers day for my daughter and i and wanted nothing more than to spend time with my child and make her as happy as possible. Upon the mentioning of my daughter on site, stacy immediately took on a nurturing attitude and offered to provide numerous amenities to better please my daughter and i. This alone had my attention for the simple fact that no other staff or management at any other establishment i have ever been to has ever showed that much concern for my child let alone any other families children that i have ever witnessed. As if that were not enough, my daughter was given a gift bag with two beautiful sand dollars inside. This is something she has still not stopped talking about and has made sure that a promise was made by me to bring her back again and again and again. Lol. She enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the pool where we swam and played. I enjoyed the location for it was close to the beach but not so close that there was a constant surge of activity that would result in a heightened sense of caution and awareness. This gave way to the peace of mind that goes hand in hand with relaxation. Also, everything else is so conveniently close as well. Restaurants, places to have drinks, grocery stores, and a lot of other places anyone might want to go. I honestly can not find a single thing i could even complain about if i were one to complain. I always analyze my surroundings in search of faults or wrongs yet while at the Blind Pass Resort, i could find none. Its a respective and collective beauty as a whole, like viewing a majestic waterfall in the middle of no-where. I will be returning for myself as well as to keep promises made to my lovely little lady. Thank you to all the staff at Blind Pass Resort and a special thanks to you stacy!!! The smile on my daughters face was absolutely the greatest experience a father could have, for it confirmed the joy that my baby girl felt and to me that was a mission accomplished. Cant wait to return and i will be referring you...
Read moreI am not one to do reviews very often, but I had to do one for this lovely motel and the sweet owners/managers, Justen & Dawn.
We booked this motel based on previous reviews being so favorable, but also with a bit of uncertainty as to the validity of the reviews. It was a GREAT price to be so close to the beach, so we decided it was worth a shot.
We were DELIGHTED by what we found! My 9 yo daughter gave it a 20 out of 10! (We will work on her math skills later, but she was right that it was top notch!). It was a VERY CLEAN, well-maintained, adorable place to stay. We will definitely go back! We loved the area, the beach and it's sunsets are amazing, and the motel was fabulous.
Justen & Dawn were great hosts and the motel is very traditional Floridian style with all the amenities for a short or lengthy stay. They provide a beach towel for each guest in the room to use at the pool or the beach. They provided a couple of basic toiletries package with some nice soap, shampoo/conditioner and lotion.
The room had a kitchen area with a two-eye stove top for cooking, a large mini-fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee pot and toaster, as well as a sink for washing up the dishes. Everything you need to cook and eat in the room is available.
Beds were not fancy, but very comfortable. Adjustable room unit AC kept the room cool and dry feeling, despite the FL heat and humidity.
10-12 min walk to the beach or 5 min drive made it very convenient for my husband and son to get up early to go do some fishing on either the gulf side or the bay side. Also, nice to be so close to the beach for enjoying the sunny day, as well as coming back for the AMAZING sunsets! (Thanks to Justen for making sure we were aware of the sunset the first day we checked in!)
The pool was wonderful and we met lots of other satisfied, return customers enjoying the pool and patio. Return customers speak volumes as to the quality of the service, rooms and amenities.
In all, this is EXACTLY what it advertises itself to be at an extremely reasonable price for the value. If you are looking for "fancy" - don't come here. It does not claim to be an upscale hotel. If you are looking for "on the beach" location - don't come here. Are you kidding? The price alone tells you it is not directly on the beach. But again, for the price the location proximity to the beach is wonderful! But if you are looking for a down-to-earth, everything you need for a stay, casual, clean FLORIDA motel experience - YOU CANNOT BEAT BLIND PASS!
We WILL RETURN. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We give GREAT APPRECIATION TO JUSTEN & DAWN AND THEIR STAFF for a...
Read moreI tried to call directly to motel to reserve a room call was directed to costal reservation center. I was told I had to pay for my suite in advance $179 with tax, which I did for the next day. When I arrived no one was in the office. I wait for 20 minutes, I try calling a number taped to counter which has no answering service attached to leave a message. 5 minutes later I received a text from the number stating, can this matter wait? I replied I'm waiting in office to check in. No reply back. I call reservation place back, no answer. I go to leave, and a young man approaches me with no shirt on, tells me he's the new owner. We proceed to check in, and he tells me he wants to charge my credit card another $150. I reply, "for what, as a credit card is on file". I asked, why wasn't I informed of this before hand? He said, it was in my email. (Shady) flags flying high! He told me the $150 was in case I trashed the room or smoked cigarettes or pot! He then showed me the room which smelled, was run down, BELIEVE, the people here that say room's look nothing like the pictures! The hot tub suite has rust stains in it, and cheap flimed shower curtains, inside a small bathroom. I pointed out the rust, only to be told; " hey this is Florida it's the water"! The pretty bed in the picture, try out dated furniture in a place that made my skin crawl. Note: There are no business phones in office. When I asked why, man said, I have a cell phone so we don't need them. During our conversation the man told me he lives in apartment behind front desk and took out his Rothweiller dog as our conversation became heated some what. I asked for my money back because I would not be staying, nor did I sign anything. He refused, and they billed my credit card. We went down to Treasure Island, found a room much nicer and way more reasonable. I don't like to give bad reviews if you look at my history, but this one needed to happen. Oh almost forgot, I had to cancel my credit card, and order another, because the man talked about how he could just run up my credit card on Amazon if he wanted too. Hard to tell if he was serious or not but the whole ordeal was unprofessional,...
