Twisted Tiki Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Saint Pete Beach

My daughter Nicole left a review about her 30th birthday party here at this unfortunate establishment. Kim, the owner of Twisted Tiki, decided to rebuttal, so as we all know there are three sides to a story, her side, her side and the truth. All I will say is… Do not have a party here and let KIM decorate for you!!! Decorations were just awful! I offered to do it myself but Kim said “Trust me I do this all the time”…In this picture is an example of a backdrop that was used and she had it 4 feet off the floor. Who does that? The backdrop was 8 feet tall. I didn’t wanna see her outdated wallpaper underneath our backdrop. I told her the most important thing was having lots of balloons, there were maybe 20. The woman has no eye for Decor at all!!!!!!! Plus, she said (in her rebuttal) she came in on her day off to do our decorations Am I to feel sorry for her that she showed up on her day off when she owns the business? How accommodating 🫩 seriously? My daughter was not an hour late we asked her to come after 7 o’clock to make sure everybody was there. She was there by 7:15. As far as Nikki’s boyfriend, YES! he was very drunk and he very much acted out of hand and we are very sorry that that situation happened. We would have apologized to the table and the DJ “JONNY B” 🥱 had he not kept going on and on and disrupting the whole night intermittently about this, calling us out even after her boyfriend left (without incident, I might add)…He was never charged or even spoken to about this situation. But as the cops said, Twisted Tiki & Jonny B took it out of context due to the fact that the DJ was encouraging people to throw things at him for fun, AT A BAR!!! Nikki‘s boyfriend doesn’t drink very much so this hit him hard and he SCREWED UP, but had the DJ just shut up about it (once his statement was given to the cops) this review would never even been considered, but him and his 10 followers, who were drunk also that night I might add, made it to the point where we left early and we DID pay for everything!!! When we asked the waitress, if this was the final bill, she said yes! Police reports are public record....

The place itself has a good atmosphere; the customers were really friendly..I will warn you right up front; this is not the place to come, if a night out with Cocktails, is what you have in mind. Not nearly as Bad as the Hut in Johns Pass; but " Nothing" can get worse than that place. The food may be Ok,,but I wont be blowing an entire paycheck to find out. The drinks were VERY EXPENSIVE; especially when you consider they serve "Tiki drinks" in a small plastic cup, packed with ice; and the "Barmaid" forgetting there was suppose to be alcohol in that Juice mix.. I read a comment from the owner, they make their Tiki Drinks from "scratch" 😆 Must have been a Politician before a Bar owner, to claim that ! I'm pretty sure if took a breathalizer test, after a few hours of being there; I would still blow a .00 on the way out the door. I am not a frequent drinker, I make special nights out, just to try out new places. Being a longtime local; I want to have good places to suggest to family and friends when we all get together; or someone is in town.. How Well those drinks are made; and How friendly the Bartender comes across; is much more important than the atmosphere; because there are literally thousands of really nice bars in Tampa Bay...It is the deciding factor on whether it was a one time stop; or becomes a regular stop on our Adventures.. I do not want to spend a fortune, to come home just as sober as when I left..I left far too generous a tip.. So this place Scored "Very Low", on my return and recommend list.. I won't be...

I really love this place. Great vibe. Great food. Sunday build your own Bloody awesome. BUT. I'm giving fewer stars overall for one reason I've really thought hard and talked to others before posting this. It's dog friendly. No problem. Keep your dog on a leash, by your side. No worries. BUT I'm ALLERGIC. Can tolerate your dog at a distance. No worries. Your dog approaches, I'm not afraid. I'm ALLERGIC. Dogs love to sniff and lick. I am more allergic to saliva than fur. Hives will rise within 5 minutes. If I cannot wash it off, my bronchial tubes will begin to close. It will become difficult to take a deep breath. My eyes and sinuses will fill with fluid, becoming uncomfortable and my contact lenses will dry out. I will begin to wheeze as I breathe. I will take a benadryl, then use a rescue inhaler to relieve my pain. It will feel like I've had a round with Mike Tyson punching my chest next day. So much fun. But at least I will be breathing freely again. Please do not take your dog and let it run free. This little friendly dude just wanted to play. Had his stick in his mouth wanting to play. I can't play. I said LOUDLY get this dog away from me. Went to the restroom. Came out. Same dog approaches again. Wants to play. I have to yell out again GET THE DOG I'M ALLERGIC. SOMEONE PLEASE!!! Finally got a response. I just want to say. If someone tells you that they are allergic to your pet. PLEASE listen. You won't suffer like that person will. Keep your fur babies under total...
