We stayed in September & it was still very hot, upper 80's to 90. As other guests have said the A/C is not enough to cool the bedroom & definitely does NOT cool the bathroom, although the ceiling fan helped. The rest of the apt. actually got cold at times although my husband never complained about it. A blow dryer was advertised but it was the kind that's supposed to go on the wall, but it wasn't on the wall! It was very awkward to use. I meant to tell Danielle. She did call us before we arrived but we were late, she left the key in a key box and we never saw her while we were there (5 days). The apt was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and also the couch with chaise lounge was comfortable. The TVs were nice size. The location is pretty nice and in walking distance of some good restaurants. You also have your own parking space. There are two reasons why I would not stay there again: 1) the shower is way too small, maybe 2 ft by 2ft? You couldn't lather up before it was rinsing you off at the same time. No way to shave your legs in there! Plus, the plastic shower curtain stuck to you, yuk. 2) the pool was NOT clean. It's nice and it looks clean until you get in the water, there's lots of dead skin floating around in it. Looks like dirty bath water, yuk again. I went to another pool at our friend's apt down the street and it was crystal clear, nothing like that pool, oow. So I did have something to compare it to. Didn't use their pool & went to the beach or my friend's place the rest of our stay. One last thing, the Fire & Rescue Station is across the street one block away. You'll hear lots...
Read moreWe booked this place last minute so our options were rather limited. We were pleasantly surprised by the location & short walk to bars/restaurants, & the beach. We had no problem finding the place or getting in the first night & the pool area was nice.
The room is more like a small apartment. There isn't much room around the bed so it's hard to get in & out of, but the kitchen/living room area was more roomy. One thing we noticed quickly was the lack of storage space - there really wasn't space to put anything except for basic toiletries. No luggage rack, 1 hanger, & no shelves besides a few in the bathroom. We ended up using the kitchen table to store stuff. The bed was comfy, but the A/C didn't really work & it got stuffy at night (the ceiling fan rattled & shook at the highest setting). For most of our trip the weather was cooler so it was fine.
The place does short & long term rentals & we got the impression that most were there long term. Everyone was friendly though. The place is pet friendly & a few people had small dogs which, aside from a little barking, were fine. Our one issue was with our neighbor next to us who left their TV on all night long; with no functional A/C, we heard it all night. This was a slight annoyance - we downloaded a 'white noise' app to help us sleep.
Overall, it was a clean room in a safe & walkable location. There were a few annoying things about the room as mentioned, but no serious issues. We had a perfectly fine time...
Read moreGreat location! Walkable to good restaurants! Friendly manager. Accepts pets. But that’s about it. Pool isn’t heated. Amenities are seriously lacking. Spotty internet with super limited capacity. Often got kicked off. Hard to work remotely. No access to live television programming. Previous guests never deleted their Netflix or Hulu accounts so that helped. Kitchen is super poorly stocked. Had to ask for forks and ice cube trays. Lots of broken or about to break things. One blind fell off. Cover AND filter of ceiling vent fell off. How’s that even possible? Plastic dining chairs had big cracks. No counter space in bathroom. Washing machine and dryer available for a charge. Dryer...
