A sizable dog park in two sections, one side for lap dogs n' pups the other for the more heavyweight. Lots of little structures and obstacles to enrich your fuzzy family members visit.
Like most dog parks it is both what you make of it and dependant on who else is visiting at the time (and if you dressed for the weather). The location is fairly popular with local dog-moms and dads so I always see at least 3 to 4 but often more dogs playing together under owner supervision.
Like some of the other parks and public points of interest a bit further out from the well upkeeped/ touristy downtown Salem area, the park at large here has a tendency to overgrow a tad and collect a fair bit of rubbish along the surrounding bushes, gutters and fences. For the most part I have noticed the dog area itself is kept clear.
Please note that a Salem "Pooch Pass" obtained from an office in town for a small fee (making sure your pup is certifiably vetted and up to date on treatments) is noted as a requirement...

There's a water spigot in the larger dog area (not sure about the smaller area), although it is currently capped off due to vandalism.
