Considering moving to Salem just because of this coffee shop alone. I will be dreaming of the witches wand latte for many moons to come and forever be chasing the caffeine fueled high it gave me. Seriously, it is THAT good. I got it two days in a row and was sad that my trip was a very short chaotic whirlwind that didnt allow me many more days of coffee at Odd Meter.
I found Odd Meter when I stumbled upon their IG a bit ago and kinda stalked it a bit. When finally making my dreams of going to Salem come true I compiled a very thought out curated list of things to do and see. Odd Meter made the cut - best decision I ever made if I do say so myself- and I promptly found them as soon as I parked my happy little butt in Salem.
I love the vibe. Its bright, colorful, and just overall a very cute, welcoming and positive space. Staff is super friendly!!
My second day I stopped in I was struggling (I'm hard of hearing) and the guy at the counter was super chill about it when I mentioned my hearing. He didn't mind repeating himself and when my coffee was ready he went out of his way to get my attention. I get really self conscious about my hearing when traveling alone so his kindness meant a lot to me!
The coffee is to die for, the vibes immaculate and the entire staff is made up of rad people. What are you waiting for? Get your cute butt...
ย ย ย Read moreI enjoyed my visit. The pour over coffee โ had a smooth flavor. "Good to the last drop!". Very friendly staff. I was told ahead of time that it would take seven minutes to prep my coffee. No problem! A server brought my coffee to where I was sitting. I don't know if they usually do that, but, I am using a cane and it was very helpful with what they did. The staff says they enjoy working at the cafe. They said the owner came up with the name for the business from a musical term since he plays guitar ๐ธ. Another customer, who was buying a bag of coffee said she dropped her latte drink outside. It was replaced free of charge. They were able to look up her receipt and what she ordered. I enjoyed the window ๐ช seating. I like to watch the "flow" of the city. I liked how the cafe was set up. I needed to use the bathroom, something the staff takes pride in. Handicap accessible and well maintained. I think ๐ค the bears ๐ป from the Charmin commercials will like the bathroom. Only issue, the chocolate croissant ๐ฅ I ordered tasted okay but had very little filling and was too flaky. They don't make their own pastries. I'll try the sticky bun next time. I...
ย ย ย Read moreI don't think anyone needs to be recommended Odd Meter as the whole place kind of speaks for itself but I will add my 5 stars to the pile.
There is just something magically perfect about Odd Meter, the atmosphere, the food, the coffee, the decor even. You rarely find coffee shops curated with such intent and it really does feel like every aspect of Odd Meter has been carefully thought out.
I go every time I'm in Salem and I get the Cardamom latte which is not too spicy and not too sweet, great if you like a little bit of umami to your coffee but don't want to make it too odd.
The pastries come from a local bakery and are a battle to get ahold of but I love the almond croissants if you can get them.
The staff are lovely and accommodating and are down for a chat when there's not a line out the door, which there frequently is but I've never waited more than 10 mins from start to finish. They really know what they're doing.
Cannot recommend Odd Meter enough and I always enjoy...
