So, I usually never do this, like we all have bad days but my friend and I were really upset by an interaction we had with the lady working today. And I usually love this place, I still wanna come in here, get my favorite candles, and some of the amazing art and hanging glass items that I’ve loved. And usually the people working are really chill, I also try to be as kind as I can be cause I’ve worked in retail and food service and I know it’s not the most fun way to spend your day. But it doesn’t give anyone the excuse to treat a customer like they’re stupid for asking a question. The girl today, after my friend and I asked what exactly a “faux match” was, told us that there were these crazy devices called our phones, that act as little computers, and we could just go and find out what a faux match was, on our phones. Like dude come on. And before this, she had the fun idea to tell us that she just worked there and she didn’t know what half the stuff was, and we should just look it up. Dude I’m not stupid, I know I can look something up on my phone, but as someone that works at a store that sells these items, you probably should know what they are when you’re selling them, the customer isn’t immediately going to Google lens the item and look through a bunch of descriptions to try and figure out what it is. Plus, come on, it’s not like we asked an insane or stupid question, even if we did, it’s not a lot to just say, hey I’m sorry, I don’t know or, I’ll ask somebody to give you a better answer. Being a nice person doesn’t cost anything, being a jerk however, does give you bad karma. So think about that next time. And please, don’t treat customers like they’re stupid. It’s mean, and really unnecessary. If you hate your job that much, find another one, tbh I’d love to be work at that shop and hang around among super dope gothic decor all day, but maybe...
Read moreSuch a cute store! Went in twice on my trip to Salem and purchased both times. My 2nd time was disappointing though. My gf and I walked in with coffees and we did not see the sign that said no drinks. The women behind the cash register loudly announced to the whole store no drinks and to leave them at the front. ( we were the only ones with coffee cups ) I Quickly apologized and we put our coffees at the table then said we didn’t see the sign. She abruptly said well that’s why I announced it and looked disgruntled. It genuinely made us feel horrible. She could’ve just come up to us and asked us to leave the cups at the table, Instead of Loudly Announcing it in the middle of the store. I grabbed my candle and incense that I wanted to purchase and I walked up to the till, I was trying to get rid of my American money since I’m not from the US. I didn’t have the exact amount of change and she made a snarky comment about how she needs it for the till, I obviously understand that and would never expect a discount or to not pay in full… I just need a minute to figure out the change. There was also nobody behind me to purchase.
I fully understand this is your busiest time of year and it’s very stressful. I work in retail too but we are Supporting your small business. People save up a lot of money to come to places like Salem and spend Their hard earned cash. I left the store, feeling sad and gross.
I will give the benefit of a doubt that she was just stressed out and hopefully they have an amazing Halloween season as it is a...
Read moreI waited 16 days for my order and three candles are missing!! I called the store only to be told there is no direct line to contact Liz Frazier in the shop, and had to email her. I also left my number and all info about the order with the store, being told that Liz IS in the shop at the moment, and would be directly given my message and info from them, as well as my email. I got an auto email reply that the shop is closed until Nov 15. Tried calling the store again (mid day to store hours) and it just rings and rings. This order cost over $100 was intended for a birthday gift for Oct 26 (5 days away) and it's incomplete....and I get zero help calling, and emailing VERY DISAPPOINTING. I would truly hate to believe that my money was just taken and no one is doing a thing to correct the issue. ~ I also included a photo of my packing slip in my email. It shows the candles that did arrive, circled in red. The three missing ones are not. No note or anything...just a partial order for one paid in full, and as stated...zero response or correction. If I didn't live 7 hours away I would go in personally. VERY DISAPPOINTING...
