Salt Lake City Central Seventh-day Adventist Church — Attraction in Salt Lake City

This is only a review of the missionaries this church send into the community and their behavior, not the church's in-house services, so if this needs to go to a different person please respond with their contact info. I am writing this to express safety concerns as this is getting worse every time these young men come by. I have no issue with religion and am a religious person myself, but these young men's approach is getting to be borderline dangerous and law enforcement will be involved if it gets much worse. I have now had 2 direct experiences with the young men that have left me nervous for my safety and whenever I see their bikes around my complex or blocking stairwells I get on edge and that is not fair at my own residence. A member of the religious faith should never make you feel uncomfortable.

My first alarming experience was about a month ago, I was out walking my dog and it was dark outside, probably 8 or 9pm. As I was walking I became aware of 2 men following me. I changed my course to avoid them, but they continued to follow me. Keep in mind I am a woman alone in the dark. I made multiple attempts to change my course and they continued pursuit until they finally got close enough. Do you realize how it makes a woman feel? I don't know if they are missionaries or dangerous men. To whomever oversees these young men, please please please talk to them about appearance and dangerous situations. If a woman does not stop for you, it is wildly inappropriate to follow her AT ALL.

Then today I was coming home from work and saw the bikes. As I was approaching my apartment building (there are several in the complex) there were 2 different young men sitting on the stairwell so I had no choice but to interact in order to get up the stairs to my apartment. Again, please advise your young men on inappropriate behavior. Blocking a path to force someone to talk to you is not okay either. I understand missionary word is hard, but it is made harder by inappropriate and disturbing behavior like this.

Again, I'm not trying to speak poorly of the church, merely warning fellow women to be on guard around these young men and hopefully their superiors will take these concerns into consideration before it gets worse. I did not think the church was capable of this behavior, I'm assuming the young men have not been trained properly, I've never had issues with the older ones. And again, if there is a higher person to file a complaint with in the church please advise. I don't like having to feel unsafe in my own home. Especially by a church...
