Peak Day Spa — Attraction in Salt Lake City

Pros: My face looks amazing following my facial. It has me seriously questioning my skin care routine. The staff that I encountered was kind and professional. The esthetician that performed my service did a very good job. Everything was clean and there was a lovely ambiance.

Cons: I received an offer for a free 30 minute mini facial. Upon calling, I was asked if I wanted to pay $30 for 30 more minutes. I happily said yes. Upon getting ready to leave after my service, I was asked to present the mailer for the discount. I wasn't told to bring it so didn't, and they advised they would not honor the discount without the mailer. This was a frustration because that expectation should have been set when I mentioned that the reason I was coming was for the offer. After consideration and discussion she decided to honor it, which I appreciated. She advised me that my remaining service was $40 instead of the $30 I expected. I let her know that I was told it would be $30, a dollar a minute, to extend, not $40, which they did honor as well. While I greatly appreciated that they ultimately kept their word, the experience left me frustrated and marred what would have been a lovely experience. Finally, I don't feel as though I got the value of my service. This is because my mini session should have been 30 minutes, then I paid for 30 more minutes. The esthetician didn't start the facial until 15 minutes after my scheduled start time but then ended after 40 minutes. Part of this was my fault - I'd forgotten to do the paperwork before arrival - but that took me less than 5 minutes so even with that my actual time of facial was short. If the entire appointment is meant to be less than an hour, it is disingenuous to sell it as an hour long service. I thought I'd get an hour of actual facial, not 40 minutes with time in a waiting area. Edit 6/16/2020 - We finally had the opportunity to get our couples massage, and felt great afterwards. So glad the owner was able to work with us on this.

Edit 5/29/2020 - The owner was kind enough to honor the original deal we had purchased through Groupon. We're looking forward to our appointment.

I was a bit let down by Peak Day Spa recently. I had purchased a Groupon for a couples massage, scheduled an appointment, then had my appointment cancelled due to the state of Utah requiring businesses such as this one to close. I'm of course understanding this was not within the business's control, but was assured my groupon deal would be honored past the expiration due to these circumstances. Upon reopening, the business sent an auto-generated text on 5/16, indicating I had been added to their marketing texts. I did not receive a call or voicemail asking if/when I'd like to reschedule my appointment. Before I had the opportunity to call and reschedule my appointment (which I had fully intended to do), Groupon cancelled my deal on 5/21, and only offered Groupon bucks as a refund. Now I have no appointment for a couples massage, and the money I originally spent is committed to Groupon, which is not currently offering any other deals for Peak Day Spa. I needed some pampering for my dry winter skin, and a facial sounded like the perfect remedy! I went in with the goal of my makeup sitting better on my skin and some major hydration!

From the moment I walked in I felt like everyone was excited to see me! From the Receptionist, to Raquel who preformed my facial, and finishing up with Parker, I felt so welcome. I was taken back to a beautiful waiting room with ambiant lighting and a variety of tea and water. Raquel came and grabbed me soon after I got settled and we went into the private room for my facial. We talked about my concerns and I felt Raquel was really interested in helping remedy my skin issues. My facial was magical and sooo relaxing! I really appreciated that Raquel didn't chat through the facial and I got to really enjoy my time.

I went in with drab, dry skin desperate for moisture. I left with radiate and hydrated skin that was glowing!! My face has never looked or felt so good!! When the facial was over Raquel made some recommendations for products to keep my skin looking it's best The way she explained everything I could tell she really knew her stuff and genuinely wanted the best for me. I finished at the front desk with Parker ringing up my purchase that I was excited to take home.

10/10 experience, can't wait to go back!
