Too long; didn't read: If not for the manager's attempt to make things right, I would have written a 1-star review.
Good things first: the manager offered most vehemently to redo the services I had come in for. She also offered to remove the charges for the services that were in need of redoing.
The unfortunate normalcy: as an obese woman, am I used to a receiving poor quality and poor service when it comes to beauty services. The technician I was placed with continued that tradition.
The bad: I was told I could not use the Polish I selected from their color wall. I have already removed the nail polish applied at the shop and filed down my finger and toenails which were left rough enough to catch on clothing and carpet. My manicure was rushed and it was obvious just looking at it. The Polish didn't even cover my nail beds and it was clumping weirdly. Also, for some unknown reason, my technician used a glitter topcoat over the color I settled for... It ended up looking very juvenile (not at all what I was going for).
When all was said and done, I decided to leave quietly and take care of it myself at home. I'm not sure how the manager knew something wasn't right, but she asked how my tech did (after my tech left me and started working on another client). To be polite and not cause trouble, I said she did well but that I would be doing some "touch-ups" at home.
The manager said she would do them. I couldn't stomach the thought of her doing that because the whole thing needed redone and I knew she would determine the same thing the moment she saw it. When the manager got up to ring out her own client, I went up to the counter and asked to be checked-out also.
When I declined again to have her do my "touch ups", the manager asked to see my manicure. I was too embarrassed to show her, but I came clean and told her I would redoing it from scratch at home immediately. She said she would not charge for the manicure, but I insisted she leave it on my ticket. The technician had put the time in, after all.
By this point, I could feel the tears coming, so I left my husband at the register to pay for me and I hurried out the door, so as not to cry and cause a scene.
If not for the actions of the manager, this would be a 1-star review. But She truly did try to make things right, but I was too upset to...
Read moreI have been going to Luxury Nail Salon for about 2 years and all of my experiences have been top quality, professional and friendly. I have watched them grow and improve by upgrading their massaging pedi chairs and polish selection. Like other salons I've been to in the valley, they take appointments and walk-ins. I have been there when people without appointments come in and expect instant service which is obsurb, that's why you get served at a given time if you make an appointment in advance. I am sold on the gel manicure because it last for nearly 2 months and at $30, that's a bargain. Steven, the only man who works there, always has an inviting smile and I really appreciate being able to converse with an Asian person who speaks pretty good English. I have only had a problem once with my manicure chipping and they re-did both hands at no charge. They can be slammed with customers from time to time but that's an unpredictable situation that can happen to any salon who takes walk-ins and most do. I have been to salons in the malls and had to put my name on a waiting list and since I was a walk-in, I took it in stride unlike some people who just don't get it. Very seldom have I been handed off to another technician but I have found making an appointment is the best way to go if I want a certain technician, which I do. I appreciate this intimate salon setting rather than a production line treatment you get in a mall setting and they offer all the services of a larger salon. I can't praise them enough and I hope they are in business for a very long time because I intend on going there as long as I can.

Read moreThe pros: My first time coming to luxury nails. I loved Emily & her mother. Emily made me want to become her friend she is so sweet and polite I walked out of this nail salon feeling super happy and wanted to make this my permanent nail salon I go to. Which I normally wont care for I just go to wherever is close at the time. My nails turned out beautiful and are strong. I came in close to closing time and Emily stayed an hour in a half after closing to finish my nails.
The cons: Since I came in about 45 minutes to closing the mom was in a rush to get out and started to help with my other hand, which is understandable, but it made me feel bad that I was keeping them there and that she just wanted to rush and get it done. Emily was sweet and reassured that she will stay to make them perfect but by the mom taking my other hand had the thickness and shape different from my other hand. I would of rather had them just have me come back to finish if the mom needed to leave. It is a little more pricey then other nail salons I have been to but my nails don't break as easy here. Overall I will be coming back just not close to...
