Sutherlands — Attraction in Salt Lake City

When I walked through the door, the lady of the counter yells to me that I have to put my purse up there at the counter with her- I'm not allowed to bring my purse in the store so I ended up having to get the keys from my husband will all the way out to her car and put my purse inside the car because I don't trust it with some stranger while I'm shopping in the store! I've never had this happen to me here until today and so I probably won't be coming here to shop again. Visit #2: Had to come here because my hubby needed an outside faucet thingy. I didn't bring my purse in mind you. So when we first walk in, I grab a bag and pick out a few pieces of candy because there weren't that many of them (the penny candy that they have in the little barrels) me and my husband each tried one piece of Taffy and it was hard as a rock. We couldn't find the faucet piece that we needed so we went to the front of the store to pay for the bulk candy. There was maybe less than 10 pieces of Penny Candy in the sack and we take it up to the front and the lady there (the same lady that yelled at me for my purse, she has dark bags under her eyes like she hasn't slept in a month- maybe that's what is contributing to her bad attitude) Anywats, she charges us $3.24 for under 10 pieces of Penny Candy, really?? My hubby questions her why it is that much for a few pieces of candy And she has the nerve to accuse us that we were non-stop eating candy while we were shopping in the store- no we didn't, the candy was too old and hard to even eat it but we weren't going to put it back, we still paid for it. After a bad experience with a contractor, we had to finish our basement on our own. We needed a certain style of door and Sutherlands was the only place in Salt Lake and Utah County to have them in stock. We were able to get half the doors we needed, however the other half had to be special ordered. There were some manufacture delays due to various reason, so our doors got in a bit later than expected.

This would've been an additional frustrating situation, however Paul and Team did all they could to make it right, even though it wasn't their fault. We were against a tight deadline and Paul was willing to have his team build a door for us if needed. Luckily all the doors ended up coming in with plenty of time. He even had our last 2 doors delivered to us, one at a time, as soon as they came in. We live about 25 minutes away.

Paul and his crew showed great customer service. They went above and beyond of what's expected. My wife and are are VERY grateful for them. I DOUBT we would've received the same treatment at one of the big chains. Our experience with them has been a bright spot in a dark situation we were in....

Worst experience ever! Bought a shed kit with some modifications for the doors and also thinking it was pre-cut to save me time. Rodd helped through the process of picking everything out. Upon receiving my materials I then realized that I was mislead in what type of shed I was receiving. I was going to have to cut and build everything from scratch. Then after looking into the instructions I realized he did not change out the instructions for our new door. All was for the original door. I called in and was given the instructions to "look it up online," and was given a website for a company that was not even the brand of door I was going to install! Rodd of course was not available because it was Saturday. After figuring all on our own and when it came time to paint the exterior walls we then realized they had given us the completely wrong colors!! We had gone in person to pick all of this out and they even stapled our samples with clear marks as to what colors we wanted. The colors chosen weren't even on the same sample!! Will never shop here again! Horrible...
