Copying this from an e-mail I sent to Radisson staff on 09/04/21 but never received a reply on: Upon arrival, I was given the proposal of paying an additional $15 to keep my car in a parking garage. This was unexpected and a little annoying given this wasn't advertised through the Hotwire booking selection. I was stunned that such a high-quality, high-class hotel cannot afford to provide its own parking spaces for guests. Since it was late and I was unfamiliar with the area, I prioritized safety over cost and acquiesced to the parking fee. I had been on the road for over 8 hours & was looking forward to relaxing in the hotel's hot tub. Once I unpacked, I went to the pool/spa area & was disheartened to experience a hot tub that felt only slightly warmer than the adjacent heated pool. To be frank, it felt like lukewarm bathwater. I thought perhaps turning on the jets would help, but when I attempted this, streams of cold water began circulating from where the jets were placed. At that point, I noticed the emergency shut-off feature & got out of the hot tub to depress it. An alarm started to sound after pressing the button. That worried me...I let it go on for a few seconds before activating the reset function by pulling the knob. This still did not turn the jets off & I waited 15 minutes for them to shut off on their own. I stayed a few minutes after this to see if the water grew warmer in the absence of the jet - it did not. Disappointed & tired, I retired to my room to draw a hot bath in place of the hot tub I'd hoped to experience. Once in my room, I tried incessantly to switch the outlet of water from the shower head to the faucet. I even sought the aid of my roommate who couldn't seem to get the feature to work either. We were able to get water flowing from the faucet head for 5-7 seconds before the hardware would spontaneously snap back into place on its own & pour water from the shower head alone. I stepped out briefly & let the shower head fill the tub with hot water. Naturally, the bathroom space quickly filled with steam. When I tried to activate the vent in the bathroom, I discovered it was broken. Without a functioning vent, all my counter items were soaked in a heavy, steamy mist. Things were so wet & foggy in the bathroom, I worried I was going to have to place my phone in rice due to moisture damage. I made 1-2 trips back & forth from the bathroom to the bedroom area removing my items. I went to bed frustrated & hungry that night because although the food I had brought with me could be refrigerated, it could not be warmed unless I paid $25 for a 60-second microwave use. Again, like the parking lot issue, I was stunned your hotel is unable to provide its guests with this amenity. I stayed in multiple 2-star hotels on my way from Texas to Montana this past week - each of which had a combo fridge & microwave in the rooms. I am on the return route of my trip back to Texas and thought I would "treat" myself by staying in a "higher-quality" hotel, but my experience thus far honestly felt like I had downgraded in my lodging choices. By morning, I'd learned there was no complimentary breakfast option, so I decided to leave earlier than intended, snagging just a coffee from the collection of beverage items that came with my room. Even this wasn't an option as ALL the coffee packets on my counter were decaffeinated. Overall, a less than ideal stay from a hotel chain that boasts such high-quality amenities and customer service. My experience has been enough to deter me from ever booking with Radisson again. Simple conveniences were blatantly ignored/not considered. For as much as guests are paying per night, I can't imagine Radisson lacks the funds to provide even a bagel or piece of toast as part of the customer's stay. Will be continuing back home, likely with a more pleasant experience from the 2-star hotel chain families as I have already...
Read moreI went to check in at around 4:30 in the afternoon... having a stay-cation in SLC so I drove a fancier car and love to park valet for the experience of having the door opened for my girlfriend. Literally the entire reason to stay was be downtown for a party and valet park the car. No valet... I waited 10 minutes out front.... had gotten out of the car, unloaded my bags came into the hotel and got a bell cart... made eye contact with the front desk... they didn't say a thing... no signage saying no valet or instructions to park your car or anything. I give my girlfriend the bell cart and said, room is under my name I will go park the car and come up and pay for the room... She goes in and says we wanted Valet, and the front desk woman said we have valet, you have to come in and ask for it.. so really no valet... She goes to get check in started and says my name and that I am parking the car and will be right up... the woman said she cant do anything cause she is not on the room... so my girlfriend says... right he is coming back from parking the car, we can start the process.. nothing... so I come up and my girlfriend is frustrated.. the woman checking us in, in intolerable... the other woman at the desk was nicer and saw the escalating situation and calmed not me or my girlfriend down but the woman checking us in.. we were frustrated but I worked in hospitality, I know how misunderstanding can get out of hand... woman checking us in was not having it. so we go up to our room... it was clean at first appearance, but everywhere a broom didn't easily go, there was piled up dirt and hair... wood floors show everything... so we were famished.. and a few hours to our party.. we decided to order room service... look look look no menu, no qr code (which is completely stupid if you don't have a printed menu for older guests!!!).. I called back down to the front desk and said where is a menu, (I think I got the same woman) she goes there is a QR code to the right of the tv... and I say I don't see one.. so she says well you can go to the copper river restaurant and get a menu or order from there... so I said, so you don't have room service?? and she got upset with that saying yes we do... we left we came back, we went to bed... woke up checked out.. that crew at the front desk was nicer... but have to go into the restaurant to get a cup of coffee.... nothing in the lobby... go to the garage to get my car... and the other reason for valet is you dont have to worry about who parks next to you.. sure enough a guy in a kia was parked at an angle to make my parking next to a pilar a pain in the butt to get out of... AND there was a bell cart behind my car just left there!!! so normally I find good in all hotel experiences... I hate to say, in all my years... this one was a disappointment from the first moment I drove up and sat waiting for something I was looking forward to...
Read moreI was in town for a corporate event, had a hard time checking in early, no one could give any good answers about what there was to do around the event or surrounding area. My jacket was lost in the hotel either on the elevator or on the floor (12); I told the front desk person, and she just did not understand want I was saying she had not sense of urgency, unfortunately I needed to leave and could not search myself. I called 2 days later, and it was not turned in and the front desk person did not give me confidence that she even cared or looked for it.-- Part two The first room I was in was too tight, the position of the bed in front of the microwave, desk and refrigerator were strange. the room also had a smell. I could not use the desk at all and to use the microwave or refrigerator you have to sit on the bed. Terrible positioning: the bathroom sink and tube both looked dirty or stained (brownish staining) either way it made the bathroom feel not clean. on the mirror the foil was coming off on the back side and it was cracked on the corner and could be a real safety issue. -- I call the front desk ask to be moved to a new room. The young lady took care of me; she sent the bell boy up to help me move my thing into the new room and she did not give me attitude about my request. I was very pleased with the new room I was assigned to 1210; it smelled clean, it was spacious. Felt like home away from home! --- Housekeeping could do a better job making sure they clean the floors in very room and attention to details for example I used the ice bag, I did not receive a new one in the ice bucket, it was never replaced; I actually went to the cleaning lady on floor 1210 and asked for cleaner and recleaned the bathroom on my second day of stay. After that I feel she may have started cleaning better or there was a different person who cleaned my floor. Lastly may jacket fell off my suitcase on my way out, I told the lady at the desk; just want to say she had no sense of urgency, she did not helpful at all. I want to make the point there was no one else in line she was helping or needed to help. I call the hotel the two days later, to check if my jacket was turned in; no luck and I had to push the desk agent to give me answers, just made me feel unsure that even if the jacket was turned in, they would not have provided a straight answer anyway. Overall, I did enjoy my stay in Utah, I was pleased with the room change, great accommodation. They should do better with knowing about activities around the area, yes, they provided us with a factsheet, but we asked about going to the Salt Lakes and how to be prepared, it was like pulling teeth but maybe the person had never been before themselves which was a possibility....
