I’m sharing my experience as a vendor working with Pearl Street Church and 210 Poeima Studio who is a volunteer for the church. Between Aug 28 and Sept 3, 2025, we finalized a sample and timeline for a Thursday shoot. On Sept 3 I was asked if I could “ship it out so it can get here tomorrow,” and on a same-day call we agreed I’d send it overnight. I printed, packed, and shipped that day, shared the drop-off receipt, and provided the exact rush cost ($30). On Sept 4 I was told it was submitted to payroll, but after multiple follow-ups I still didn’t get a clear point of contact or payment. Then on Oct 9 I was told “nowhere… did we agree to pay the (Next DAY DELIVERY),” despite the written next-day request and my proof of overnight shipment. The package was confirmed delivered Friday—after the Thursday shoot—and a quality concern was raised after the fact; I stand behind my work and would’ve addressed it immediately with timely communication. What finally moved anything forward was me stating I’d take this public; the church acknowledged the situation after i had to send two emails and a facebook message, but 210 Poeima Studio did not take responsibility for the rush they requested and tried to play it off, stating that it was my responsibility. If this is how they conduct business then it's much left to be desired. Unfortunately the fact it finally took 3 days for any kind of resolution is appalling. It seems the church takes more focus on the public image then integrity, and committing to working appropriately.
This is my honest account, backed by dated messages and emails. I hope, moving forward, the church tightens accountability and communication—e.g., not relying on volunteers to speak for the church in vendor matters, putting rush approvals (and who pays) in writing, and resolving issues before someone feels they have...
Read morePros: Spirit-filled church with loving greeters and families. The building is beautiful and clean. Free water and coffee inside the building. There is an outdoor stand which I didn't check if they sold it or not. There are children classes so parents can attend independently. Plenty of parking. Shuttle golf carts are available for people. Security in the parking lots. Ramps for handicap individuals.
Cons: Super loud music. The bass shakes the floors. It could be reduced about 15 decibels or more. Lighting is way too bright. We sat in the far back and it was directly in our eyes. My concern was this would not be good for anyone with epilepsy because of these bright flashing lights. +Solution to lights and noise level=wear earplugs and sunglasses. Just a thought
Conclusion: My husband and I were greatly blessed at their special prayer service 10/27/24. We needed the cleansing power of Jesus in our lives at this time. I will return to visit but not so often due to the con conditions mentioned. We both were 65 and over. There are several 50+ individuals. Majority are young 30s and...
Read moreI came to Pearl Street Church seeking faith and fellowship but found judgment instead. I was condescendingly questioned about my bus life dreams being told it might be my “flesh talking” instead of God’s vision. Then, while volunteering, Jessica pulled me aside, stared at my chest, and told me to “cover up or else I couldn’t serve.” As a bustier woman in hot Texas weather that struggles to find tank tops that can keep everything in, I know this wouldn’t have happened if my body were built differently and I were flat chested. I had a jacket over my top as well. That said, my struggles and growth are between God and I alone. My faith journey is mine alone. Any shortcomings are for Him to correct in my heart. Yet here, I was body shamed and put on a rigid, hypocritical checklist disguised as modesty. This church talks highly of “coming as you are” but what they really mean is “come as we want you to.” That’s not faith, it’s control. Please do better. Every time somebody walks through those doors they should be experiencing the love of Christ...
