I went with my family to this place Friday night. It was the first time for most of us. At first it seemed like it would be a really chill place. When I got there with my husband, my aunt offered to buy me, my cousin and husband a drink. So we all went up to the bar to see what they had. We were carded right away. I accidently forgot mine so I wanst able to order. Okay fine, that's the law I get it. We all go back to the table and my cousin, husband and mom go back up to order. Right away they are questioned by the bartender, "Is SHE drinking??" Which, is kinda odd but we all bkew it off. They all come back with their drinks. And honestly I wasnt planning in drinking because my 80 year old aunt and uncle were in town from Colorado. TWICE, I saw the bartender pass our table and make eye contact with me, I'm sure she even caught me steal a swipe of lucus from the rim of my moms margarita. But anyways, we are all enjoying each others company, the food was pretty decent, and they had a playground which my son loved, but I wouldnt really bring kids normally, but I had brought him since it was with all our family and his little cousins. Anyways, my mom gets to the bottom of her margarita and ask if I wanna try it before she finishes it. (I'm 24 BTW) so right as I put it to my lips and then put it down the bartender grabs it and says "YOU CANT BE DRINKING THAT" Then throws it away. Idk I guess she was watching me the whole time waiting to catch me in the act lol. Anyways, as little as that made me feel I didnt protest or say anything (though my husband sure wanted too), we also noticed she was OFF THE CLOCK. anyways she still decided to tell the manager and get him involved. He comes over and leans on the end of the table with both hands (as if scolding his children) and says "IF SHE DRINKS ONE MORE TIME IM GONNA HAVE TO CUT YOU ALL OFF" , at that point I'm a little agitated because this seems like it's gone a little too far and I'm being treated like a child. He didnt even have the decency and come respectably talk directly to ME. so, my mom and cousin follow him to follow up with questions concerning what's legal what's not. (Texas law says that your spouse as long as over 21 can buy you alcohol so can your parents) but they dont go by that. Which makes me wonder what if I never went to the counter in the first place? What of my husband went up by himself to buy me a drink? How would then have known I didnt have my ID? Would they have asked? I guarantee not ever single person with a drink was carded. Anyways we go on with our business, but the manager (I believe his name is Joshua)and the off the clock bartender still decided to keep staring at us which made us all uneasy and to distracted to really enjoy ourselves. My cousin then decided to talk to him and not even yell or anything, though she does keep questioning him. Because of this he decided to CALL THE COPS. yes, on a 90lb 22 year old, and her family. He also decides to cut everyone off from buying drink including my great aunt and uncle. And this all started because I took A VERY LEGAL SIP . so sadly my cousin had to leave, so we all ended up leaving. I've worked in the reaustraunt business since I started working (16). I know there are rules you have to follow but the whole situation was handled very poorly and was treated very very dramatically. I would like to give this place a second chance maybe one day.. heck I feel like going back to shove my ID in their face lmao. Hope they manage better next time around and maybe learn some...
Read moreUnfortunately had a disappointing experience at this bar restaurant. The Burleson Yard Beer Garden is situated in a great location and attractive plaza area. There is ample parking in the front, however, there are other businesses and the lot was filling up.
By the entrance in the parking lot there is a Pearl supply truck, which appears to be on display and nice to see preserved. On entry of the establishment you can see an open concept layout of tables and bench chairs, a direct view of the back of the bar and outside area. There are neon signs and various display pieces such as a motorcycle to help create an ambience in the place. I found the overall look of the bar to be busy, but very picturesque. There was a concern on the maintenance of the tables as they did not look to be clean and its uncertain the last time the signs or items throughout the bar were cleaned or dusted off.
It took time to receive service despite there being multiple tenders behind the bar. There was one individual assisting and ringing up patrons. Because of this a line was being generated when the other bartenders could have easily started an order. After waiting, there was a laminated menu on the table to select the desired items from the food truck.
Anticipating a great experience, I had stopped by with my partner. She requested the Pearl beer, which was out of stock. I found this to be interesting since they had the Pearl truck outside in front as if to promote the brand. Instead she ordered a Pacifico beer and I had ordered a Karbach Love Street beer. These were provided in their respective bottle and can.
There was also food available made by the food truck outside in the back area. This food could be ordered at the front. I had ordered a modified mushroom Swiss burger and requested a veggie patty. My partner ordered a cheeseburger and added on avocado. We were provided a restaurant pager. The food truck in the back appeared to be run by a single individual and did not seem to be cleaned often as there were old grease stains against the wall that were easily seen from standing outside the food truck. The food that came out was not tasty and we could barely eat it. The bun did not seem fresh and my patty did not seem to be cooked all the way through. Our food came with fries that were not tasty or satisfying. The food was not enjoyable and felt like a waste of money.
The outside area seemed busier as there were games to play. After this experience it is clear to see that the beer garden has a lot of potential, however, better maintenance of the space and perhaps an upgrade would be better for the establishment. Due to the bad experience I do not plan...
Read moreBurleson has so much potential but whoever owns this establishment needs to visit during their busiest times. Watch the bartenders and the lack of initiative on serving the potential next customer. On a busy night you will see lines everywhere and the bartenders are carrying the longest conversation with anyone who wants one. You have customers drinking at the bar while purchasing more drinks for others at their table and if the conversation is worthy they can order another round at the bar. Meanwhile the line gets longer (we were in line for 20 minutes). Look at past posts and the pictures say it all, no covid restrictions with long lines. Covid restrictions and with the same if not longer lines. SSDD. The establishment does not have door cover so all of the sales come from your bartenders. The doorman who monitors capacity, does not get adequate information or direction from the manager. They need radios for to keep well informed. Also, since we all have to wait for capacity to be made available please ask your doorman to not smoke while on duty. Many of your patrons did not appreciate this last night. Great live music, loved the band that was there on this night. Will come back if they play there again otherwise we will be next door for lesser priced drinks and...
