Looking for a free city view in San Antonio, we ventured to the Hays Street Bridge. While not the postcard panorama I initially imagined, it turned out to be a pretty cool and definitely memorable spot! The bridge itself is a neat piece of urban architecture, offering a unique perspective.
The main drawback for our family was the parking situation. We ended up on a side where there was a noticeable presence of people experiencing homelessness, and a few in our group felt a bit uneasy. Read moreSuch a sweet spot to go to. It's kinda like a hidden gem of the city, or at least I found out about this place late. I'm not a native here, but I'm glad I found out about this spot. You can see the sweet city scape of downtown and ever peer towards the Southside. Its a great viewing of the whole city really. It's certainly beautiful! I'm glad they're fixing it up! They even do yoga classes here. You can see the Amtrack passing by, or at least I did. It was pretty cool; and see trains passing by from over heard. It's awesome. Even the Alamo Brewery is beneath. It has lights on the bridge. And it's even big enough to remind me a bit like the Santa Monica pier if you'd ever been there.... A...

I understand why everyone in San Antonio goes there to take pictures all the time. On our way down the stairs we saw there was a rock garden that had colors available for people to contribute to the garden with their own art. I thought it was pretty cool. Some people were very creative coloring the rocks. There was also a mural under the bridge that was pretty cool too. We took two kids with us and both of them...
