Jim Johnson Memorial Sport Park — Attraction in San Clemente

Great park for kids. We didn't come here for soccer, just the play area. There is good seating and benches for eating right next to the kids play area. There is plenty of parking. The bathrooms are relatively clean and accessible. The park is pretty close to the ocean, so there is a nice breeze.

The best aspect of this park is its location. It is right off the 5 freeway and is about midpoint between SD and LA. There is also a chick fil a right across the street. So it's a perfect rest stop for drives...

Nice sports park. Fun playground. Great synthetic field. Decent picnic areas. Decent parking. Really busy on Saturday mornings for soccer and other sporting events. The large grass sports fields are sloped and have randoms rocks that keep popping out of the grass. The grass tends to be a bit thin and can get really muddy when if there's rain or heavy dew.

It would be great if the grass fields could be redone so they are more level. Obviously it would be a big cost for the city. But it would...
