Blaze Pizza — Restaurant in San Clemente

I really want to like this place more, but cannot justify spending my money here. I'll start by saying that all the employees I've encountered here were polite and friendly. Online ordering was a big issue. Every time I have ordered online, my pizzas have been wrong or had very little toppings - like 4 pepperoni for a pizza where I asked for extra pepperoni. There was even an order where I received a pizza with no cheese (I triple checked, I definitely asked for cheese). Generally, I'd almost forgive this by just walking my behind into the store to order, but after seeing how they actually do things, not so sure it makes a difference for me. If you have any food allergies - run away. I witnessed several occasions where a patron asked for both pesto & marinara on their pizza - first, the pesto was spread directly on the dough using the pesto ladle, then the marinara was spread using the marinara ladle, meaning there was now pesto in the marinara, and both had touched raw dough. Hope none of you are allergic to nuts, because now that marinara has nuts from the pesto. Or have a gluten allergy because it's touched all kinds of dough , with and without gluten. Understandable that the staff can't change gloves between every customer, but using serving utensils for ingredients and trying not to mix things would inspire more confidence. Overall, it's pretty pricey, questionable food cross contamination issues, and just not consistently good enough...

Kids 15-18yrs “working” this dump of an establishment! Embarrassing, slow un attentive staff from the order taker to the cashier. Place was filthy, dirty floor, disgusting seating/tables, every table had the previous 10 Customer’s leftovers/crumbs including dirty cups and crumbled up napkins.

First and last time I will ever spend my money here, I went with a friend that had had three bad experiences back to back and was hoping to have that be different today! He was wrong and admitted it in line even before I paid, he was apologizing to me even before we had gotten our pizza. We would have ordered a brownie or cookie but neither were an option as they didn’t have anymore. They didn’t have any meat either besides pepperoni, and I quote “we don’t have any, maybe tomorrow?!” I politely asked, you don’t have anymore sausage in the back, I can wait? Employee: No

So long story short over worst most embarrassing dinner with a good friend of mine. I had find a napkin dispenser that had a few left in the entire place pull some out, go to the fountain drink dispenser wet the napkins with water, go and clean a table to sit at and eat. After pulling the chair out I had to go wash my hands again from the sticky grime/greased up chairs. It’s seriously a sad sight.

Owners or Management need to be aware if they are in business to make money. If not I guess they can run it as a charity paying the kids minimum wage until they close up shop or...

The filthiest place I have been in quite some time. From kitchen shelves covered with dust and food residues to a kitchen floor unkempt. The staff seems not to care to keep things clean… the counter where they make the pizzas is a dirty as a hoarder’s kitchen. The napkin dispenser is covered with dust which show it has not been cleaned in quite some time.. the purel dispenser is dirty on top, the bathroom has splashes of mud on the walls which are definately a sign that is does not get cleaned daily… the bathroom sink is filthy and makes you feel you should not even wash your hands there. I can be understanding but everything at that location screams LEAVE! The employee cooking the pizzas was on her cell phone and then i noticed her drinking from a cup and licking the lid while working. Nothing is worse than bringing your kids to eat pizza at a new location of a restaurant he likes and then throwing out the pizza because you fear the ingredients were not cared for. I hope blaze pizza management can investigate this location as it definately lacks order and...
