Listen up... There are a lot of places that TRY to do what NoW Cafe does (a cute little cafe with healthy, yet frickin delicious, options), but NOBODY in San Diego does it better than NoW Cafe.
Incredible-tasting, yet healthy, food options Unique food options Fair pricing Excellent super-friendly customer service Great for tourists, yet they know how to take care of locals (I live nearby, ladies, holler!) =) Consistency (ALWAYS 5-star food and service, 100% of the time)
Other places in the area either provide too small of portions, have outrageous pricing, do both of the above, or use bad ingredients that will make you sick. I'm not even a vegan, and I'm in love with this place.
TIP for Fellow Fat Boys: NoW Cafe's No Worries Acai Bowl is (somehow) more delicious than any Ben & Jerry's, Haagen Dazs, etc. I don't know HOW they do that, with something healthy, but I'm glad they do!
TIP for Distinguished Tourists: This is the ONLY decent food in the immediate area, and it's FAR beyond decent. Next closest area with good food is Mission Blvd / Santa Clara. All of the other eateries in the area are tourist-trap, bad service, overpriced, low-quality garbage (and Starbucks is Starbucks).
TIP for All: NoW Cafe shares a building with Mission Bay Sports Center and they're right...

I got a "shot in the dark" as well as a "chagaccino," and both were delicious. The paninis were really good, too: the focaccia bread was some of the best I've had. They also took my weird little reusable mug (Left my normal one behind and had to pivot). My only critique is please. Please use compostable plastic or alternative to plastic utensils. The to-go cups for coffee also are just purely plastic and it would be nice to have them be compostable. Both times I had brought my own utensils but I was given plastic...

I got the large mermaid bowl for $11.75, tax included. It's different compared to your regular acai bowl. It has a scoop of pitaya (dragon fruit), coconut, matcha, and mango puree. The mango puree was a bit too sweet like syrup and the matcha was a bit runny. The coconut and pitaya were delicious. Im giving it 4 stars because theres an option to add peanut butter for a $1 and i saw them using skippy peanut butter. For a "healthy" cafe, i would expect a higher...
