Edna is a truly gifted painter. She creates inspiring and beautiful paintings consisting mainly of landscapes and figures, but works in 3-dimensional mediums, as well. Her style is perhaps best described as contemporary with elements of impressionistic accents and a naturalists conception of the subject. I enjoy going to her gallery and shows and getting to look at the different pieces, as each one tells a unique story and takes the viewer somewhere. Inspiration comes in the works of a truly talented artist, like Edna, who can create with paint and canvas, works of 3-dimensional beauty and complexity. Her works transport the viewer, creating a cascade of emotion and visual sensory experience. The paintings that I end up buying are the ones that I cannot part with and want to keep experiencing. Viewing her paintings will take me to unique places: like a quaint Italian town on the Mediterranean or picturesque coastal landscape or a bucolic countryside scene that I can get lost in time and time again. I highly recommend that anyone that truly appreciates art get to know Edna and her work. Another thing that distinguishes Edna is how accessible she is and how she warmly and openly communicates with those who appreciate her work and are eager to understand better how she harnesses her talents and creates such works of awe-inspiring...
Read moreIt’s with great pleasure that I am writing a review for Edna Pines, my special La Jolla artist. I have been her San Diego customer for over 4 years, and in that time have purchased six beautiful and, as well as a very special art pieces which I commissioned her to do of a photo I took in Positano, which she customized for my family (even put our dog in it!). She’s such a multi-talented and detailed artist and my pieces include super unique palette knife, oil, and acrylic paintings I have also attended two of her shows to the public. I’ve put the paintings in two major rooms in my house and know that have received so many compliments on each of them. They range from landscape to abstract to resin pieces. I am the most unlikely person in the world to buy art as until Edna, I never appreciated art at all. I have received so many unsolicited complements on these pieces and enjoy looking at them very much. I look forward to being her customer for many...
Read moreMy friend Jane and I discovered Edna Pines Studio & Art Gallery on a 1st Friday art walk in La Jolla. We met Edna who is one of the most talented and warm women I have met. I immediately was attracted to a multi-media piece with painted birds, music sheets and other textural notes. After I purchased it and we visited with Edna, we left. I had seen a beautiful ocean view painting but passed. When I woke up the next morning I knew I wanted the painting but I wanted my dog Zeke, his green ball, and myself in the painting on the beach. It was important to have the green ball as it was the last gift my late husband got Zeke for Christmas. I went back to the studio. Edna explained that she couldn't add us to a completed oil painting - so I asked if she did commissions. She does! My beautiful painting arrived about 3 months later. I am so happy we met Edna and that I now have 2 of her...
