This review is more about the experience than the actual tan. I booked two separate appointments at BlushTan: one as a trial run before a wedding I was attending (since it was my first time here) and a second just a few days before the wedding. The first tan wasn't bad, but it was definitely darker than I was anticipating, but it wasn't a huge deal; I figured we could just go lighter the second time. It's also worth noting that I booked both appointments with the same person for consistency purposes because in my experience, everyone has different techniques, and I did not want any surprises. I get to my second appointment and another girl introduces herself and says she'll be spraying me. I looked over at the girl who sprayed me last time, who is standing at the front desk as well, and she didn't even make eye contact with me. Super weird, especially because it's not like I was difficult my first appointment or anything. It also irritated me because I had explained to the first girl during my initial appointment WHY I booked both appointments with her. Anyways, I confirmed with the second girl that I wanted to be a little lighter than the first time. My tan ended up looking the SAME shade in some areas and even DARKER in others. I wanted to cry the next morning. The actual spray tan itself wasn't as orange-y like other ones I've gotten, but the mere fact that these people totally disregarded everything I requested in the first 2 appointments made me not want to...
Read moreI get spray tans often and my regular person was not available so I was referred to Blush Tan. It was patching off the very next day and I had done this for an event so it was quite disappointing to have blotches all over my body. Because I do spray tans often I have the prep down to a science. I even got their after spray powder and bought their hydrating cream that they recommend. Very disappointed and do not recommend. It must be the formula they use because this never happens with my regular girl who uses Dolce Glow spray. EDITED 8/6/24 - Owner replied that I must have been patchy because they said I didn't have the "pamper powder" applied during my visit but I DID!! She absolutely used the full powder routine on me so it's their solution obviously. The owner's reply is not accurate. They offered me a 50% discount for a future tan but there is no way I'd take that chance again as it ruined my event. Also, I've been doing spray tans for years & have never needed a powder applied for the spray to last. This, in my opinion, is just a way for them to make money. If you need powder to keep your tan from getting patchy then you don't have a good solution. I've never needed to powder and have never had the patchiness I had...
Read moreSo so so happy that I found BlushTan!! I’ve tried out a few tanning salons before, but this is by far the best spray tan in San Diego, hands down! I come from Pacific Beach, and it’s so close and easy to pop in for a quick spray.
I really love how natural the tans always look. I get so many compliments every time I get tanned, and people think it’s just my natural skin! :) my skin has never felt more glowy, and I feel so confident wearing no makeup whenever I have my fresh tan. I’ve never ever been orange after getting sprayed here and I love how they’re able to achieve a naturally deep tan look on my skin tone.
Besides the amazing results, you definitely need to see how cute the salon is inside. The interior is so bright and welcoming, and definitely so different from how tanning salons usually look. It also smells so good - absolutely no icky spray tan smell anywhere to be found! I’m so happy that Blush is able to stay open through COVID and I definitely feel safe coming here since they follow all of the COVID protocols. I’ll never go to another spray tan salon, I’m so obsessed with...
