We were super excited to go whale watching and booked a weekday AM reservation. Getting there was easy, plenty of parking and checked in inside. They give you lots of warnings to take something for sea sickness, do it!! Even if you think you’re normally fine on boats, do not risk finding out you’re not while you’re stuck out at sea. Everyone in our group had Dramamine and we were fine. That being said, I was not expecting how rough the boat ride would be. You had to hold on TIGHT and it wasn’t long before people around us started to barf. One by one we watched them go down, and by the end I would say more than half of the guests were barfing. The stench and heaving sounds can be a lot, so be prepared for it. The throw up issue is not the fault of the crew, however we’ve been whale watching before and never experienced such a rough ride so I think it took people by surprise. They do offer bathrooms on the lower deck, but getting there was a mission in itself. The boat was so jerky it took me forever to navigate myself down there. I had to leap quickly when I felt a moment of calmness, holding on to anything I could find for stability which was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. At one point I did almost fall over but thankfully another guest attempting to get below caught me and we (complete strangers lol) held on to each other tightly. It would be a HUGE help if they had some sort of designated pathway with wall grips or something to help guide people because I watched multiple others fall down attempting to move around like I was. In all honesty the other guests were more helpful to me than any of the crew members, and with their help I made my way. Downstairs was barf central, everyone down there was either puking or trying to hide their heads in a corner. This meant we had to stay on the top floor the entire boat ride. We all had put on sunscreen before leaving but all of us still ended up pretty sun burnt as we weren’t anticipating being in the direct sun the entire ride. We didn’t see any whales but were offered a 50% off to try again. The crew was nice, however the woman speaking during the trip didn’t give much info on anything around us; it was more just telling people what direction to look in every so often. Other whale watching trips we’ve done they create a fun atmosphere, lots of jokes and information on the animals to keep things interesting. Maybe we were expecting too much based on our other experiences. There was a rep from the museum that provided info at the very end of the ride, but by then we were so drained we just wanted to get off. Overall it was awesome seeing the dolphins, and maybe things would be different on a calmer day…however this was not something I’d ever want to...
Read moreAll of the crew and/or everyone who had anything to do with our trip from the very start to finish were all amazing. Above & beyond kind, considerate and friendly as well as informative. There was information given before and during the trip on everything from sea life to geographical to you name it and if not, if a question and/or request was asked, there wasn’t any hesitation to answer or accommodate. I’ve been on several whale watching trips in the past 11yrs of living here from the east coast and this was by far one of the most enjoyable one I’ve been on. Unfortunately we did not see any whales up close, just a far off water spout from a shy whale, but we did enjoy plenty of dolphins, sea lions, birds and a chilly, but great rude aboard a beautiful ship, plus I am disabled and need to use a walker for now and again, ALL of the employees and crew went above and beyond to be sure mine and all others safety were of the utmost importance, as well as being sure that we all had a wonderful experience and they gave anyone who wanted one, a 50% off next trip coupon, due to not spotting any whales during our trip. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who wants a helluva great whale watching experience and/or just a great time out on the beautiful Pacific Ocean for a few hours. I added one of the many pics I got of a couple Bottle Nosed Dolphins who came to ‘play’ with us silly lil humans! 😁 PS: Whoops, not a very good pic, so I’ll try to post a better one or two when I have a chance to take a loook-see at all of them or crop this one a little better, because there are two beauties that were swimming at now if boat that are in the...
Read moreI've done plenty of whale watching trips, but this one was the worst. They had to reschedule it due to choppy Waters and they rescheduled me instead of Tuesday for Thursday, but the waters were still very tumultuous and should not have had people on a boat in the water in those conditions. As soon as we took off it was so choppy, that everyone started to immediately get seasick, I am not talking about a couple people, but the majority of the people on the boat. There was vomit everywhere, and we could not even look out the window without seeing vomit coming from the Second Story down past our window into the water. With how bad everyone was feeling they should have turned that boat around and offered refunds or a reschedule but made us stay out there for 3 hours and would not help anyone unless they paid for a vomit bag or a motion sickness bracelet. I had some Dramamine and I had passed out every pill I had but it wasn't enough to cover everyone on the boat and it was too late by the time they took the medicine. The children were all crying , there were vomiters on the back front inside and above . We saw very little wildlife. The photos included are only a few of the seasick and covered their faces for privacy, but this was how the entire boat was. Most were too sick to even lift their head up and enjoy seeing anything. I spent the whole time instead of looking out at the water but helping parents who were taking care of sick children while also trying not to throw up themselves. There was no apology no offering to turn the boat around no discount or refund for a future trip since this one was miserable and I won't be...
