I had a great experience this afternoon. I haven’t visited a nail salon in what feels like 10 years, and this experience helped me realize how much I have missed it. We called earlier in the day to see if they’d have an afternoon slot available. When we arrived, we only waited 5-10 mins. The business was very clean and organized. I had a deluxe pedicure and regular manicure done. I enjoyed and loved both. The little things also matter so much like small talk and one of the nail specialist (I can’t remember her name but she was wearing a black shirt with tan/brown flowers) brought me a pillow to hold up the book I was reading. Lisa, was also very kind and really good at what she does. She also took time to explain the benefits of gel nail polish, which now I will try the next time I...
Read moreFirst time i went here the nail artist was great. I always get nail art, however it seems san diego is still stuck in the kast century as far as nail art trends go. After that first visit it seems that nail tech doesnt work here anymore and each time has been more of a disaster. Fron letting gel or monomer get on my cuticle or skin and cure, to not dehydrating/buffing nails enough so they pop off, to point blank allowing me to specifically make a 10:30 appt for nail art only to get there and be told they filled my spot with a walkin and for the tech to say she cant do nail art. Drips were left this past time around that i had to go home and file them off myself, the incompetence was insane. They’re very unprepared, and mediocre. Prices are average, but not good enough for what...
Read moreThey don't know how to do dip nails here. If that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere. I had my nails done on Saturday and it's currently Tuesday (4 days have elapsed, if we're being generous) and the top coats have begun peeling off.
Sealing dip nails with the base coat is wrong. You don't apply activator on the sticky base coat, you apply it on the powder. Curing dip nails with a gel top coat causes peeling. I've had dip on my natural nails for almost 3 years, going to the salon every 2-3 weeks. The techs here are doing it wrong.
Updated to add: I ended up with an infection that I had to manually drain from my cuticle from Nails & Spa on 56. So, take that into...
