June 15,2025 Overall: 2
Change from 5 Star to 2 Star due missed order and bad service.
Arrived 5:55PM on a Sunday evening. Full house. We put our name on the waitlist. We don’t mind to wait a little when there were a few tables were finishing up and we were first on the list. Few more parties came in while we waited.
Two tables became available. The party of 4 behind us were called first. No problem because they had two elderly people and needed to sit at a table near the door. We were called next anyways.
We decided to put in the order ourselves using the QR code for convenience. They had a full house and busy anyways. The string beans, black pepper beef, and Chongqing style spicy chicken came out. We waited for over 30 minutes for our order of XLB but it never came. We asked a waiter to check on the order. He never came back to inform us the status. After seeing 2 more tables getting their order of XLB, we decided to ask for the bill.
Suggestions to management: 1)If you can handle QR code orders at the table, do not offer it.
2)please train the staff to get back to the customer about the status of an order not just to put in another order.
3)the portion has shrunk from our last visit on June 2. Please have proper portion control in the kitchen. You can check on the 2 pictures of black pepper beef.
Suggestion to self: don’t go there when the restaurant is busy.
June 2, 2025 Overall: 5 New dumpling house in Carmel Valley - must try!
Food: main dishes seasoned well and tasty. Our favorites - black pepper beef and sauteed string beans. XLB are decent but the closing on the top is a bit doughy.
Ambience: bright and clean.
Service: friendly and prompt although it wasn’t very busy at the time. The server was knowledgeable of the menu and able to make recommendations based on queries. One can just scan the QR code on the table instead of waiting for a staff - very efficient!
We will visit again to try...

First of all the rice they used seemed low quality and it was dry and hard. It was not bouncy or fluffy.
The variety xiaolongbao was very dry and there was hardly any soup in any of the variety xiaolongbao, especially the bulgogi (? It's the red one I don't remember the exact flavor) flavored one. And the dough felt dry as well, as if it was over streamed or left somewhere to keep warm for a long time that the folds of the xiaolongbao turned dry and hard to chew.
The regular dumplings were decent tho I did enjoy those.
The hot and sour soup was very starchy and doughy, so much that it demonstrated a curd like consistency rather than a soup like consistency. Also the pork slices were so thick it reminded my first time cooking when I was in 4th grade. It was more like pork sticks than shredded pork.
Also all the chopsticks are 公筷 which means public chopsticks which are usually used in a family style lazy Susan setting where you would use the公筷to pick up food to your plate and then proceed to eat with your personal chopsticks, it's a bit long and awkward for this setting.
I usually wouldn't nit-pick this much but with the price they are charging I was definitely expecting better from a place called super dumping. I really want to like them and have a decent neighborhood dumpling joint but I found the it was hard for me not to hate it after eating there.
I understand that maybe it's just not for me since their menu is more American Chinese food centric, so maybe I shouldn't have looked for that authentic experience with fluffy rice and juicy xiaolongbao.
I don't have any photos because frankly the food did not make me feel excited about eating...
Read moreThis place is a vibrant Chinese dim sum restaurant celebrated for its handcrafted dumplings and wok-fired classics. We came to Super Dumpling to celebrate my mom’s birthday after she spotted it on Instagram. This restaurant is brand new, barely two months in business.
Their offerings cover everything you could want from appetizers, dumplings, bao, noodles, meats, seafood, vegetables, and a whole lot more. We ordered a generous amount of food - a few appetizers, four different dumplings, two kinds of fried rice, some meat dishes, and a handful of other plates. Every single dish, and I mean everything was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. There wasn’t anything I disliked.
The servers and staff were very friendly, polite, and attentive. The teamwork was very precise, and I was impressed on how well they worked together and helped each other out. It’s not something you see all the time.
Whether you’re a dim sum fanatic or just want to have delicious Chinese food, I highly recommend...
