My faith in humanity was restored when I walked into Seabreeze chocolate shop this this evening. After a truly terrible meal, where we spent over $200 and had probably the worst service in recent memory, we walked into Seabreeze trying to redeem the evening.
We were warmly greeted by Lena who enthusiastically showed us around the shop and explained where they get their cocoa beans and we marveled at the amazing machinery roasting the cocoa and churning the glistening pools of dark chocolate. We're delighted at the great array of colorfully decorated chocolate bonbons. We picked out for pretty bonbons and then another two. Lena arrange them in a beautiful box and offered us some hot chocolate that she had just made for herself. She was so kind and gracious and the chocolates were incredible. When we got them home we couldn't believe how pungent the flavors were. The passion fruit seems like we're just sucked it right from the shell. The sea salt caramel was super salty in a really good way. This is dark dark chocolate, and not especially sweet so you can really taste me pure flavor of the cocoa bean. We can't wait...
Read moreSeabreeze donated a truffle making class to an auction that I attended. I was the lucky purchaser and what a fun time it was! I invited 6 of my friends to join me - all of whom were over 70 years old (and one was over 90!). We had a super time! Jim was a wealth of interesting information about the chocolate making process, and he guided us through the steps (and helped when we needed it) so that we all came away from the class with a box of truffles that we could be proud of (see below for the box that I’m proud to say was mine!!!). Everything about the class was done first rate from the wonderful cacao that we started with, the folder of recipes for each of us, and the box in which we put those beautiful truffles. I came away thinking- “when can I do this again? Who can I take with me next time?”
And, I know I will be going back to Seabreeze to buy their yummy chocolates in the future - for myself and for gifts. I send a big thank you to Jim for making it such a fun day. We all had a great time and are still talking about...
Read moreIt might be they were busy focused on making a batch of their beautiful chocolates when I popped in, or getting ready for the next class ..,but when I asked about chocolate tasting profiles not much info .. no tastings available until I asked further .. seems steep to me to expect me to pay $12 to $18 for one bar with no info .. but then luckily another younger, more friendly person, offered to research further if they had a few pieces to taste .., score she had the sea breeze Belize 70% and another to compare.. fantastic since it was the Belize I was curious about .. it was truly a lovely delicate and interesting flavor .. not too fruity nor dark like coffee .. so I bought a bar .. Maybe if they offered tastings for a small fee then applied a discount to a purchase we might get a better sense of what is...
