We arrived with the hopes of finding a treasure trove of sea glass and left with zero glass but a lot of great memories. Considering Shell Beach is right by all the action, it was remarkably deserted when we got there. After about 30 minutes of alone time, four or five others joined us - obviously searching for sea glass as well.
You can probably tell from the pics how beautiful and pristine the beach was. We were also treated to a sea lion pup that randomly came ashore and waddled along the beach for about twenty yards before disappearing back into the ocean.
I was really hoping my daughter would walk away with a piece of sea glass but she told me that she really enjoyed Shell Beach and the South Boundary (see my review) where it's a sea lion and seal clusterbuck. Definitely worth a visit if you want to try your hand at finding some glass and want to see...
Read moreThis is a really nice little beach. I watched folks taking some really nice pictures along the shore, and especially the caves or crevices that are cut into the rocks. You can overlook the beach and area surrounding from the top where there is a nice little viewing hut. I found this to be a nice option because to access the beach, you must walk down a long concrete staircase. The down side is then you must walk back up the long concrete staircase to climb back up. If you are looking for cool shells or other pretty beach objects, they are here, while small they are still fun to look for. There is a set of steep cement stairs to go down to the beach and are not accessible or good for older people. Overall this beach was lovely to go to and I would recommend it...
