Best place in La Jolla to see a lot of sea lions in one place! It was my first time in San Diego as a tourist and didn't know where to go to for the best sea lion viewing experience. I started out at La Jolla Sea Lion Cove and saw a couple on the rocks, and then headed north west to Point La Jolla Sea Lion Rookery, but the sea lions weren't there. They were ALL on the beach sunning themselves on Boomer Beach. It was a great view of the different colours and sizes and you could hear and smell them! They're so used to humans that you can easily get within 10 feet of them without alerting them in any way. It's definitely a good spot to stop by to see how wildlife has adapted to humans. There'll be quite a crowd here if you come during the middle of the day, so be mindful of that.
