From the moment I walked in, I knew this was going to be a great experience. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the staff truly made it stand out. Everyone on the crew was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time. Their positive energy and efficient service set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic meal.
Breakfast is one of my favorite meals to enjoy out, and I’ve had plenty of great ones—but this place stood out in the best way. The quality, flavor, and presentation were top-notch from start to finish.
I started with their Spicy Bloody Mary, and it was the perfect way to begin. It had the right level of heat, full of bold flavor without being overpowering. It was well-balanced, refreshing, and served ice-cold with a great garnish. Definitely a solid choice if you like a drink that wakes up your palate.
For my main course, I went with the Steak and Eggs—and it was exactly how it should be. The steak was cooked just right, tender and juicy with great seasoning. The eggs were perfectly done and complemented the meat beautifully. It’s a classic breakfast combo that they’ve executed flawlessly.
The Loco Moco was another winner. Hearty, savory, and deeply satisfying, it checked every box. The beef patty was juicy, the rice was fluffy, and the gravy tied everything together in the most comforting way. The fried egg on top was the perfect finishing touch. This dish felt authentic and thoughtful—comfort food elevated with care.
And now, for the star of the show: the French Toast. I don’t say this lightly—this French toast is truly one of a kind. It’s not your average version—it’s better in every possible way. Crispy on the outside, soft and custardy inside, with just the right hint of sweetness and spice. It’s rich without being heavy, and each bite just melts in your mouth. I haven’t had French toast like this anywhere else, and I’d honestly return just for this dish. It’s unforgettable.
Throughout the meal, the service remained exceptional. Drinks were refilled promptly, the staff checked in just the right amount—not too much, not too little—and the food came out at a perfect pace. It’s clear that the team works well together and takes pride in both the food and the experience they provide.
The ambiance added to the enjoyment—casual yet clean and inviting, with a warm energy that made it feel like a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick solo bite or enjoying a slow, relaxed meal with friends or family, this place hits all the right notes.
In a city full of good food, it’s always refreshing to find a spot that not only delivers on taste but also creates a memorable experience. The combination of flavorful dishes, stand-out items like the French toast, and genuinely kind, efficient service makes this place a gem.
I’ll definitely be back soon—and next time, I might just start and end with that...
Read moreWe wanted to love this place ! It was a huge disappointment. I found this cute little place in a Google search for breakfast on our vacation. It looks to be a house converted into a cute little restaurant in a great location. A corner lot a block from the beach . Online the menu looks great with alot of fun things.
It wasn’t exceptionally busy when we arrived and we sat inside with only two other people dining inside . We were told to choose our seat and the one we wanted had a smashed date or beetle on the table top and the chair . After being seated a while you really notice how filthy it is . The screens , the floor , spiders hanging around the skylight.
I ordered chilaquiles, my daughter ordered French toast . The food came out lightening fast, and my Chiliquiles weren’t prepared properly. Some bites were warm and some were cold . Like refrigerator cold. I waited for our server which took about 10 minutes to catch her attention. By then my daughter was done with her meal . I did learn that the chips were kept in the fridge. I ordered another French toast and waited about 15 minutes for that because by then more people had come and my issue didn’t take priority. While they have Grace ( sweet server) running around , there is another woman who looks to be a manager just chatting at the bar with who I would later see coming out of the kitchen so I assume is the owner .
The “manager” brought my food and apologized. I asked for a fork , she said okay, walked in the kitchen and then walked back out with other people’s food so I ate mine with my hands . Never saw her again . The grand finale was going to the bathroom where the sink had an “ out of service “ sign.
It seems this place is on its last leg with a lot of things to improve. As a small business owner I understand there are challenges, maybe business has been slow, short staffed etc . But if you don’t have the tools to run a business at full potential then you don’t run a business. This was an awful experience for which I was sad and disappointed because it looks...
Read moreArrived on a Saturday afternoon, looking forward to this spot because my cousin absolutely hyped it up. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cute, near the cove, walking distance to Scripps Park but I am just so disappointed in the hostesses. I assumed who ever greeted us must be the owner’s daughter or too young to be a Maître D because both had high attitudes, probably didn’t want to be at work on a Saturday?
We (Three of us) were told it would be about a 20min wait. We noticed 2 seats at the bar to the far right, closer to the inside tables. There was another single bar stool in between 2 couples, we knew before we got an answer from the hostess, we would ask for it but instead she turns around and says; Yes, the bar is open seating (Eye rolling) but you can’t stand at the bar. We just said OK, thanks, please add us on the waitlist then walked over to the bar. Our server Kaitlyn was superb, she was great and took our order without writing it down =) The drinks were delicious and the food came fast, hot and delicious.
The reason they are missing 2 stars and I say they are a solid 3.5 is because we finally get a text that our table is ready after 35 mins, as we were getting ready to leave.. (Looking around there were plenty of seats)
After walking around checking out the vendors at the park, I needed to use the restroom and thought, oh well I was just here and I should go but again, I was stopped by the Hostess and I just said I needed to use the restroom she seemed annoyed about it (another eyerolling session). The restrooms were not clean, it was hot, humid, stinky because of the temp and lacked décor. A nice place like this should have nice, cool and...
