Was lucky to be in San Francisco recently and visit this small, but powerful, art gallery. Not only did we get to view the “Torn Asunder” photos and poem (unfortunately we were not there for the solo presentation by the artist Andrew Wilson), but we had the chance to meet Doku and see some of his finished work and work-in-progress in the artist work space beside the gallery before his upcoming showing. We here at Chloe Jackman Photography can’t say enough good things about the Jonathan Carver Moore Gallery! This vibrant Black-owned space in San Francisco is a true gem. We’ve had the privilege of photographing several events and receptions there, and each experience has been nothing short of amazing.

The gallery showcases an incredible collection of artwork from both emerging and established BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and women artists, creating a diverse and inspiring environment. Jonathan Carver Moore is the first gallery in SF to be owned by an openly gay, Black man. Moore’s program is anchored in uplifting the often marginalized voices of black, queer and women artists. His gallery is filling a very urgent need for safe spaces for underrepresented voices to share their stories through their own lens. Very excited to see their forthcoming programming!
