The experience was meh at best. We emailed about their $75pp policy regarding their fireplaces (2 in total) and though it's not a shared space with other patrons the fireplace setting seems more suitable for a group of 4 or more. The fireplace can be a romantic spot for two but we opted for a standard table outside. (Their standard tables don't have a minimum $ spent policy) Normally we could see ourselves spending $75 worth of food & drinks each, but we were coming more as an after-dinner nightcap.
When we arrived we were offered one of the worst tables outside and later a table by a fireplace but chairs described as "those non-cushioned" chairs"; more on that later. The weather outside was cold and a bit misty which we expected but with that horrible table we decided to take their other table offered inside.
We had the Capri Moon (described as well balanced but was way too sweet) and an Espresso Martini (not on their menu but my husband had a craving).
For food, the duck bao sounded good and we were also craving something sweet so we got the s'mores cookie. The duck bao was cold and chewy, and missing more of the hoisin sauce, the cookie was delicious but also tasted/ate refrigerated.
I should've listened to my gut feeling about ordering food because I couldn't smell the food; when walking in there should be an aroma of food, given they have fried chicken on the menu but nothing... makes me wonder where's the kitchen... if too far away, it can explain the cold/stale-like of the food.
I thought I would give their wine a shot (since I really didn't enjoy the capri moon) and had their sauvignon blanc and it was good (generously poured).
We went outdoors to enjoy our drinks and walked around (we are on a mission to find a rooftop to host our friends) AND noticed the plethora of tables available toward the back (that still provide beautiful views and space heaters) at no point did they think that would be a better offer than the initial offered tables??? I understand that we said the white/beige chairs looked more comfortable but we also we mentioned that we wanted to enjoy the views...
In the time we were there a table of two gals that came in as walk-ins after us, so sometime around 830ish were told they needed to leave by 9:30 at 9pm. Again, I understand that they were walk-ins but there definitely has to be a more delicate/diplomatic way to say they need the table by a certain time.
We also saw a group of four young folks turned away and another group of six allowed to stay not sure what difference was neither had reservations... (the party of six went around different guests asking for extra chairs for the small table they chose) and their volume was extra loud in contrast with the ambiance.
This place has potential BUT it needs to figure out its "personality" the minimum $75pp for a fireplace feels like a way to keep certain clientele out but then selling a capri moon in a pouch as a wink-wink to the liking of a caprisun... feels...

Lacked Flavor and complexity for Cost, pickled hearing with sour cream would accomplish the same flavor profile for 10% of the cost
Charred Broccoli de Cicco (V) Tomato Jam, Castlevetrano Olives
Overcooked, underseason, and minimal amounts of tomato jam.
Flavors paired nicely together, but the balance of each was off.
Fried Potatoes (V) Hummus, Chermoula, Garlic Sauce, Cilantro
A great flavor, needed a tad of salt and a little more sauce though. Would order again.
Almond Joy Torte Whipped Coconut Cream
Perfectly Cooked, Balanced, SubtlyTorte.
Coconut Cream lacked any flavor it, would have been better if made as an ice cream or sauce to compliment the warm torte.
Total Cost (No entrée, one glass of wine, two sides, one appetizer, one dessert) = $102.16 [tip included].
Summary: Come for the view, but don't stay for the food.
Overpriced food menu to portion size, even for SF pricing.
Not the place to be a baller on a budget.
This is more of an appetizer, dessert, and drink date spot than a full meal restaurant, unless you're on a company's dime.
Atmosphere: 10/10 ✔️
Customer Service: The staff, especially the host, were extremely polite, open, professional, and accommodating to my questions and seating preferences. 10/10 ✔️
Staff Knowledge of Menu: The service staff had very poor knowledge about the menu and had to go back and forth to ask questions to other team members on the menu. No information on portion size. Additionally, the staff struggled with a language barrier as well. 4/10
Accommodation: I asked the server to ask the bartender to choose between two wines at the same price point to pair with my meal. The bartender sent out a completely different wine than the two I selected, while it did pair nicely it was more expensive than the two I asked about with no confirmation before the upcharge. 5/10
Cost to Experience: With the menus locations and scenery, I could see what justifies their pricing. Unfortunately, the menu cost for all the items does not match the menu items themselves, and seems to be overcharging for simple items. If you want to be a baller on a budget, this isn't the place to take your date for anything beyond drinks and dessert. 6/10

Read moreBe prepared, park in the parking garage and travel with a group, definitely a bad area. All kinds of stuff and situations happening right outside the restaurant building. Good news there was security at the front entrance, we were greeted at the front desk and given directions. Bathrooms were very small but clean. We took the elevator to rooftop restaurant entrance. Walking up was lit well with lights and such a great view. The solarium and outdoor seating was nice. Outdoor fire was beautiful, heaters were on and outdoor area was modern feel. Waitress and table host both very nice. I will mention overall service was very slow and everything took so long. We started with a couple appetizers/shareables. I was with a group of six so my comments on food will be the overall consensus. We started with fries, crunchy outside soft inside covered with a sauce (tasted like bbq). Then samosas, we didn’t finish and not a favorite. Ordered chicken and biscuits, chicken crispy and salty no other flavor so the sauces helped and that was finished, note the biscuits I wouldn’t call a biscuit, two very small bites came and not the best. (Think ChikFila little bites but those are better than these.) Pork Belly was an overall fav. Crispy soft big bites sweet flavor. Cucumber salad good, wished it had more sauce to give a more punchy taste. Royal Burger was my fav. I ordered it because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. Two others at table ordered the seafood pasta very small overpriced and not good neither person finished. It was my daughter’s bday so they brought out a small dessert it was ok. Great photo ops outside. Online solarium photos make it look better than it is though. I’m debating between a 3-4 star review but leaning...
