The matreon is a great indoor courtyard eatery that I would heavily suggest as a spot to go to especially if you are conferencing at the Moscone Center. I really enjoyed all of the food options and it was just a short walk from the moscone centre, so I would 1000% recommend checking it out . I think the prices for food are pretty much the same type of prices you would expect at an eatery in San Fran . They have a wonder Thai place that I really enjoyed . I will say that the way the chair are set up. It is a great place to meet new people and make friends while enjoying a meal. It can be a little loud, but once you are seated, you will notice that yes you will have no issues speaking with the people that you are sitting with. There are a good amount of bathrooms available, so don't worry too much about it.

Since it opened it 1999 I've gone to the Metreon. My fave park in the city for a long time is right outside the Metreon doors and has views of the old church and waterfalls with the city in the back and is truly beautiful. Inside best movie theater in SF with IMAX. Good food selection downstairs located both in and outside the building, but we usually eat across the street at Tropisueno(great Mexican food and drinks)! Also there is a small Target here for random stuff, the entire building in and out is fairly clean, and overall I just like this place. Walk here but driving will cost ya. Mission st parking across the street is your safest and easiest place to find parking. Go see a movie in IMAX and have a great experience!

Not a great visit. I went to see a show to start at 1030p tonight. I arrived at 1018p...when I walked into the theater I found it completely trashed. I had to walk all the way back to the customer service booth to find someone with a radio and showed her the images and video I took and she did call for cleaners but they came at 1030p when the show was supposed to begin. They didnt start the previews until the two cleaners finished tidying up the place. So our 1030p show didnt start until 1140-something. I guess they are short staffed so if you need a job with access to movies and concession food minimum wage is $15 an hour! Good luck with your job application!!

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. This is a review on my most recent experience and possibly unique situation, so it may or may not apply to you.

I've been to this theater before and typically have good experiences. Being one of the few true IMAX theaters in the country makes it a huge draw for me. It's why I booked a 10pm Dune: Part Two ticket here the evening before I fly out of state.

I have 2 kids, and I couldn't abandon my wife to take care of bedtime routines for both. So I stayed behind to help even though it meant missing the 10pm start. I figured it's fine to miss a bit of it, since I've already seen the movie. Plus, the first 20 or so minutes is dedicated to trailers. So I leave our place around 1040pm and walk there from lower Nob Hill. Yes, SF isn't the best place to be at night, but it was nice to enjoy the cool evening air and to stretch my legs.

I get to the theater around 11pm, doors are closed. I try the back door, still closed. Wave down a security guard and she's pissed before she opens the door. Tells me very rudely I'm late for my movie. I said sorry and asked if I can still go in and she goes off. "Why are you so late? Why are you guys always coming late for your movies and expecting to be let in?" and so on. I'm confused because this is the first time I've ever done this and I barely said anything to her to warrant this tirade. So I let her finish, try to explain why I'm late and she obviously doesn't care: "Don't you see what this sign says? We're CLOSED". Tells me to call AMC to have someone escort me since she won't let me in, and when I ask for a number, she tells me "Just google it the same you googled the Metreon" (spoiler alert: I never googled the Metreon but sure).

So I do just that. Call the number for the theater listed online 4 times before giving up since no one picked up, and tried to wave her down again. She just straight up walks away even as I knock. I then notice that the sign she pointed to earlier has a number for late night entry, so I try that. Security manager gives me the same spiel. I'm confused and explain that the door says opening hours are until 8:30pm, but I have a ticket for 10pm so how does that work? She explains that there is a grace period until 1030pm and after that, they lock up and apparently AMC employees are gone (probably why no one was picking up my phone).

Now I'm even more frustrated because this was never explained in my confirmation email or on my ticket or on any sign anywhere. Furthermore, the guard never gave me any of this information, except sass. So I wasted time standing there calling a line that no one will pick up since she told me to do that.

Fast forward to today, I call again 4 times and no one picks up. I can't refund my ticket since it's past showtime, and I never received any services for the payment I made. This is frustrating because again, no one anywhere told me that I had to show up within 30 minutes of showtime. If I had known that, I totally would have canceled my ticket ahead of time and not wasted time walking back and forth to the theater. I figured that since I bought the ticket, I would have access to the theater and any missed time would just be missed time for me. I didn't know that I would be missing out on the entire movie because they close down the theater.

If someone can point me to where on the ticket, confirmation, or website it says that we have to show up within 30 minutes of showtime, I will happily delete this review. Until then, I leave this up as a warning to anyone who plans to watch...

Nice seats that power recline, plenty of arm room, I saw IT recently and had to sit up front and that wasn't even terrible. Look I'm 39, look like I'm 30 and still see myself as a young adult. But I guess things have changed. I asked for candy popcorn and asked if they had root beer. I was told by a snot nose, pimply face, I know it all who was no older than 15 grab ur own candy and go look if there's any root beer left. Look I know all about the self serve soda dispensers but I was late and didn't see them. I didn't know I could just grab what I wanted and after paying my $25 for it, the food I mean, 2 adults 1 child to see it = $50, I figured it out. I know as a kid I didn't trust anyone over 30 and I'm sure I had an attitude when puberty kicked in. But I was respectful. I opened doors for family as well as strangers, I still help seniors across the street and with their groceries, asking permission of course. I still don't think I measure up to my father, or him his. Where has the respect for others and yourself gone? Yes sometimes we snuck out to party or listened to what was rap at the time, I have no idea what it is today, but if this generational gap continues to widen, without the respect for the previous ones, we are in for a wide awakening that scares the *!#$ out of me. People stop trying to gather wealth and step on and hurt the next man. If it's within your power, please show compassion and help the person next to you. If we all gave we would all recieve. Omg I just rambled for idk how long. I am so sorry. Ok, nice place to rest with a few issues....

I remember visiting the metreon when I was younger, but after a few years of not being in California, I found it fun to revisit in time to see Spider-Man no wait from home. It was of course extremely busy as other people were also there to see Spider-Man, and to go shopping in the Target. But it wasn't that many people that we had to traverse through. I was a little bit nervous, especially since we're still in the pandemic time, but it seem that everyone still had a lot of space to navigate and not be too close to someone else. Not to mention it seems like a lot of people were still very much abiding to the 6 ft rule and wearing a mask.

If anything, I would definitely remind people to make sure they have their vaccination card, though not every place is asking for it. Most places are. It's sort of sad to see that some people are still not vaccinated, but it's even worse to see when someone is vaccinated and has completely forgotten their card. Are the take a picture of it so that it's on your phone at all time or just have it in the purse or bag that you...
