Charlie, I had one session with him and it was okay; he applies a slightly firmer technique, which is good if your body is tight, but I don't think he's very good at adjusting the balance because I went a second time and after a 90-minute traditional Thai massage, I started feeling pain in my lower back towards the evening. I got some hot patches, and now I'm feeling a bit better, but I don't think I'll go there again. It didn't feel very professional, to be honest.

I've been coming to Dao and Charlie for nearly five years, and they're the only ones we trust for massages in SF — they're that good. Charlie gives the best deep tissue massages; I leave feeling five years younger every time. If you're looking for a high-quality massage without the extra cost of a fancy spa, this is the place.

Hands down, the best massages I've ever had. I have been coming for over 6 mos. every two weeks I've never made that kind of a commitment to massage before. I injured my back 35 years ago and Charlie is able to work that area of my back. My previous experience was that massage therapists would avoid working that area of my back. I completely trust Charlie to reduce pain and muscle soreness. I've had massages with both Dao and Charlie and both are excellent. They offer Thai, Deep Tissue, Swedish, and other services. They are responsive to feedback on what pressure you will like. At the onset of each massage, you provide some info on any focus areas. I can attest they do adjust the massage to provide that...

I had Charlie help me with a Swedish massage today, and it was the best massage I've gotten in the city so far in terms of massage technique, service, and adequate pressure (many places don't push hard enough to do anything!). I had problems with my neck, and Charlie put a lot of dedicated work on my shoulder and neck areas to remove a significant amount of tension. Also, Charlie was generous with his time -- he didn't rush the massage end and made sure I felt that I was taken care of, going a little less than 5 minutes over. Thanks so much Charlie! will be...

The traditional thai massage is excellent and they also offer oil massage if that is your preference. I have been to both therapists and each does a great job, each was able to do focused work on tight areas and balance focused work with a full body massage (I got the 90 minute traditional thai massage) My husband has been several times as well - he is picky about Thai massage and was quite impressed with the skill level and quality. They check in frequently with how much pressure is desired. The space is clean and pleasant. ...
