Club Champion — Attraction in San Jose

I’ll try to be as objective as possible with this review. I came here after seeing many positive reviews and the $100 full bag fitting promotion. Here’s my experience: Professionalism: It’s hard for me to judge whether the fitter’s recommendations were right or not—maybe I’m just not experienced enough. The fitter did share a lot of insights, which I appreciated. However, it felt like the goal was more about selling me expensive clubs. Once they saw I already had a premium putter and wasn’t interested in upgrading my woods, they skipped fitting those clubs—even though it was supposed to be a full bag fitting. When I asked about hybrid fitting, the fitter responded with, “What do you want from that?”—which gave me the impression that if I wasn’t planning to buy a new hybrid, they weren’t interested in fitting it. Target Audience: Based on the other glowing reviews, I assume many customers here are willing and able to spend $2,000+ on irons and $1,000+ on a driver. If that’s you, then more power to you—hope it improves your game. But for someone like me, the extra $80 for installation each club and $50 for shaft puring is just too much. That’s on me for not rich enough.

To be fair, I understand they have to cover rent, labor, and other costs—so I’m not blaming anyone. But I do feel that if the $100 full bag fitting is part of the promotion, they should at least complete the full evaluation, not just focus on the clubs I might replace. That’s why I’m giving a 2-star review.

I had an awesome fitting experience with Jeff Lamy! I’m a woman golfer and still pretty new to the game, but I’ve been hitting consistently enough that it felt like time for an upgrade. I was a little nervous at the start of my appointment, because I get self-conscious swinging in front of people, but Jeff made the whole session relaxed and fun.

Throughout our session Jeff explained all the Trackman data and showed how each club, shaft, loft, lie, swing weight, etc. affected my shots. What surprised me the most was that even though most people say lighter clubs are the best for ladies or people with slower-than-average swing speeds, we found that a heavier club head actually worked better for me. That’s something I never would have figured out on my own, even with all the online club selector tools out there, and shows that getting the right club is more nuanced than just looking at things like total weight or shaft length.

Custom clubs are definitely an investment ($$$), so for brand-new golfers, it might make sense to wait until your swing feels more consistent, but once you’re hitting solidly, a fitting like this can be valuable.
